Definitely not EMP potential: Within 15 minutes we're launching nukes from our subs at China, Russia or whoever we think launched a EMP over our country. We'd all die in this scenario, therefore, it's not happening.

I'm doubtful they're even needed for spying. China & Russia has opps on the ground gaining Intel as well as satellites that can view things on the surface level. I'd lean towards spying, but not sure why it's needed to begin with.

I wouldn't even know the ROE with an alien craft. I'd think shooting it dahn would be the extreme last thing one would want to do. I'm sure nobody from NATO or the UN wants smoke with intergalactic species that are likely far more advanced than we are. The only indication that this could've been otherworldly was the pilots' description of how the objects were moving in the sky. It very much akin to descriptions I've seen on those UFO shows on cable TV.

Crazy enough, the option that makes the most sense is that they're US made and are an distraction or a false flag to be used as a pretext to go to war.
