While UTSA is a young program they have clearly shown their potential in football.
A top 10 city with a large media market would benefit PAC 12 for streaming.

Rice brings a great academic institution in the nation's 4th largest city and a top TV market.

The PAC 12 would have three of the largest recruiting markets, in addition to an expanding base for streaming purposes.

If the PAC 12 wants 16 teams, then Tulane would be next on the list, and posiibly UNLV and their market.

PAC needs Rice with UTSA's football and enrollment.

if rice was an option theyd have been invited weeks ago.. the pac12 is potentially breaking their 100 year rule of no religious affiliation at all to add SMU... if rice was even a remote option theyd have been taken over smu.. a higher ranked academic institution with no religious ties ... if rice was even close to being a candidate theyd have gotten the invite, they just arent close
