But what EMU can't have is Noah shooting well as he did last night but taking but 6 fga's because Emoni is dominating the ball and missing his shots. Heath should not have allow that to happen. Moreover, Emoni, Acuff, and Noah, should all dirive to the hoop more as all tgree score better at the hoop than they do on two-point jumpers. Plus, they'll get to the foul-line more than they do.

EMU's basic problem is it's defense as it's one the worse in the nation. EMU was able to hold Toledo to 70 points because Toledo took lots of three's and only scored 12 points on four made three's. EMU was lucky as Toledo started off shooting 4-11 on three's, and then stopped making them.

EMU also has some players who foul excessively. What good good does it do to play Getter and Lovejoy when their fouling costs EMU almost as many points as they score?

Opponents going to the foul line when coupled with opponents shooting very well on three's, EMU is in a world of hurt. Such happens on most nights.

Opponents usually shoot well against EMU on two's and three's alike. EMU doesn't appear capable of reducing opponents two-point shooting percentages, but do have the ability to stop the three ball by forcing opponents further out and making them dribble. Heath has been reluctant to try to stop opponents three ball. He should as EMU will continue to have a very difficult time winning if opponents score 6 three's or more per game.

On offense, here’s the major contributor on why we lost:

“EMU can get buy on three good shooters and even if one is off on a given night. But what EMU can't have is Noah shooting well as he did last night but taking but 6 fga's because Emoni is dominating the ball and missing his shots. Heath should not have allow that to happen. “ So here in lies the problem on why our offense suffers many times. When Emoni doesn’t move the ball and isolates himself to a 1:1 or 1:2 sometimes and takes ridiculously difficult shots which most of you approve of because they look spectacular when made. Unfortunately these are low percentage shots even for Emoni. I truly believe Acuff or Noah could lead the conference in scoring if they went 1:5 like Emoni. Noah has not had a very good 3 point shooting season but I feel watching the game sometimes Noah and even Acuff have to shoot difficult shots too because once the ball goes to Emoni, the ball is going up and they’ll never see it again. Emoni needs to stop this behavior and Stan needs to sit any player who doesn’t move the ball and forces shots. The other contributor on offense that has plagued this team the whole season is the lack of Heath designating roles on who shoots and who doesn’t. For example, Jihad, Billingsley, Geeter and sometimes Golson take 3 point shots but this is not their game or role. These guys should only play in the paint.

I will disagree a bit on Lovejoy who I thought played his best game as an Eagle. Orlando got to the lane and scored (this is his limit currently), he got rebounds, he got steals, he got assists and just really hustled!

Apart from Lovejoy, most of the team played hard on defense but we have mental lapses. For example the out of bounds lob play caught the Eagles sleeping, we don’t box out and got lucky Toledo was cold from outside.

On the flip side, we got another 5 second turnover call when the game was within reach. Are you kidding me? I’ve never seen a Team struggle inbounding the ball. Toledos coach playing chess and Heath playing checkers.
