66-55 final.

Game ball to Goss who single-handedly became the offense in the 4th. 3rd quarter was the 2nd-worst quarter of the year for UT, after the 4th at NIU

Rockets have put up several clunker games during the conference schedule. Has the team lost a bit of interest? There's just no way Ohio and Eastern Michigan should give us that much trouble.

I see the lost interest angle... shot so freaking bad.

I like letting the best player go off and shutting down the rest. Defense wasn't the issue. Shouldn't get outrebounded by THAT OU team. Worst in MAC in rebounding. But jeez, can we just shoot non stop for the next few practices.

Sophia has been off most of this year. Where is the 20 foot J she used to have?

This team has won 5 in a row and sits one game out of first… but yet they have “lost interest”. JFC this board gets more and more delusional.

I appreciate the win streak, but looking ahead at the schedule five games ago, I certainly would have expected a five-game win streak from this team. The best team we've beaten during that stretch is fifth-place Akron, at home. This Rockets team is very good, so it's fair to have high expectations. The performances against Eastern Michigan and Ohio were very poor, in my opinion. Delusional seems a little strong, but I guess, given the nature of delusion, if I were delusional I probably wouldn't know it.

Goss and Mikonowicz both seem to be even better than they were last year. And both play really hard every game. Jansen has also lifted her game this year. In spite this improvement I am becoming increasingly convinced that this team, with all critical parts having returned, is not as good as last year's team. I don't see the benefits which we were expecting from the two transfers. I also continue to believe that this team is playing with the heavy burden of expectations.

Meanwhile Ball State, who gave the rockets fits last year, has made major improvement this year. A couple of their bench players from last year have improved and their injured leading scorer from last year has returned so that they have an impressive group of talented players in the rotation. And BGSU got back their leading scorer and did a better job in the transfer portal. And IMO their coach is doing an impressive job of directing the defensive pressure which league opponents have shown no capacity to deal with.

If we can't play better against Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, and Ohio U how do we instantaneously see a more effective team when those last four games are played? Last year there were no high expectations and when they got rolling everyone was having fun. Thier joy, and a little good luck, created a springboard to success which was hard to stop .... until the MAC tourney. This year feels like a slog.

Can we throw in the 2nd quarter against Duke? I realize they are a dominant defensive team but 3 points in a quarter ... and looked very bad doing it.

We are better coached than BSU. Their center got tossed yesterday after a swat out of bounds and continuous sh!t talk back to back. That would never happen to a Tricia coached player on this team. We beat em at home rather convincingly. They beat us on some fast breaks after buckets, and actually shot well from 3 and still lost by 7. They aren't the team I'm worried about. BG is. Kent also has 2 players who can change a game more than any single squad.

Kent is nowhere near as good as Ball State. Shumate had a great game yesterday, but has been pretty much a non-factor in most all of Kent's games this year. If she keeps that up, Kent is better, but since Dunn is out for the season, their roster is not as deep as Starkey would like folks to believe. Kent doesn't scare me much, although on any given day, if they shoot well they can be dangerous.

Yes, Ball State plays bully-ball and sometimes gets mouthy, but that's not a coaching "failure", it is exactly as intended as the way Sallee wants them to play. They've been like that for the last decade. It works for them, especially in games where the refs let the small stuff go, which has been a number of game against UT in recent seasons. Dis Agustdottir is having an amazing year, and they have 5-6 players who can shoot lights out from three. Odds are in any given game at least 2 or 3 of them will be hot. When they shoot well, they can play with anyone in the country and you have to outscore them, which is what UT was able to do at Savage. At Muncie it will be much harder. Clephane isn't even really back to her top form yet, so they still have upside.
