Last time around W&M faced an emotionally drained UNCW team after their loss at home to Charleston. W&M beat the Hawks' 69-67 with starters Shy Phillips out with an illness and starter Noah Ross sustaining what may be a season ending injury and limited to only 11 minutes of play. 59 personal fouls were called in an ugly game that saw the Tribe go deep into their bench in a game that saw three Tribe players foul out and four more players end with four fouls. Freshman forward Charlie Williams scored a career high 15 points on 11-12 shooting from the FT line. UNCW fell apart in the second half shooting 21.7% overall and 26% from three. The Hawks' have gone 4-1 since that loss but took a major blow in losing to W&M and then getting blown out at at Hofstra.
Now for round two at W&M.
The Tribe shoot the ball well from three but that's because they don't shoot a lot of three's and the guys who take them make them. They are near the bottom of the conference in assists(much like UNCW) and they struggle on defense allowing teams to shoot 47% on average. Their starters have balanced scoring with two players in double figures and two more at almost 10 ppg, but once the subs come in there isn't much production. Meanwhile UNCW took a week long break to revamp their offense, focused on increasing the tempo with more movement in the half court, more pressure on defense to create turnovers and more focus on getting the ball in transition after defensive rebounds and made baskets.
I expect UNCW to showcase their depth, intensity on offense and defense, hit the boards and to show the loss to the Tribe was a fluke. Although we have been slowing the pace to keep it in the 60's and low 70's, I expect the Hawks' to crank up the offense today with our new and improved offense.
Hawks' - 77
Tribe 63

People are liking the Hawks. You never know though. Blame me as this is the kiss of death but I’m taking ATS:
UNCW
Hens
Elon
Hofstra
Monmouth.
Hopefully MHH didn’t get hurt last game. He was out the last 8 minutes or so.

More ice cream!
Some local ice cream vendor should use this as advertising. Sure, they couldn't do anything for the team on the road, but they could do something (discounted ice cream) for ticket stub holders after home wins.

Tribe found some players today. Hawks got revenge but it wasn’t easy.

No doubt. It goes to show that teams better show up ready to play, and then not let up in this league. The better teams really are better, but they aren't so much better that they cant lose to pretty much anybody is they don't take care of business.

I remember when a local sub shop had a promo to get a free sub if the Seahawks held an opponent under 60 points. It was when we were leading the country in scoring defense and having sell out crowds. Feel like they probably lost out on that promo

Maybe, but if they were good subs those folks were prob repeat paying customers, and /or brought people with them that were not getting free subs. Generally, places don't do promos that have no upside. It's like the Chick Fil a Promo for a free Sandwich for the Canes. I get my free sammich all the time, but i pay to add cheese, and buy a fry and a drink(two things that have huge profit margins)
