For those not familiar with Gabe’s on air persona…he’s less political than what this thread has turned into. So you can rest easy.

I don't listen to AM talk radio - just can't do it.
But I have caught Gabe in the On The Bluff podcast, and think he's really good at that.
So I am looking forward to giving him a chance.

BTW, what is Grind City planning? They hired GP and now have hired Jarbo. Are they going all-in on comprehensive (not just Grizz) sports media?

The infatuation with politics and real life events inflects all mainstream sports media these days. I yearn for a sports media haven where sports and sports only is the topic without the intrusion of weighty matters. I am open to recommendations.

That is the woke left's agenda. Insert leftist slants into every article, conversation, broadcast, show, and suck the fun out of life, as well as divide the country on EVERY front. Not just politics.

Just can't let things be. Like you are so woke on woke.
Everyone knows you are right handed already.

That's kinda funny, because I am actually left-handed.
But anyway... I'm impressed that it is the 4-7 slot, instead of the 4-6 slot like Parrish did. Bless his little liberal heart, he just couldn't stick around in the afternoons for that last hour... "3 hour work day??? Oh, the horror"...

Most station-on-air weekday shifts are 6-10AM, 10AM-3PM, 3-7PM, 7PM-12Mid and 12Mid to 6AM. It does vary from that based on each stations on-air staff available and how they set up their programming. Weekends are usually done by part-timers. That is assuming the station is live all the time and it is an all music station. Many run paid programs on the weekends if they are a nonmusic format. Live game coverage also effects programming a lot since the station has to conform to the sports schedule of the team(s) and the games they broadcast. Also an on-air shift usually involves at least an hour or pre-show prep. So, a morning personality has to get up at 3 or 4AM to be at the station by 5AM for an hour of show prep before going on the air at 6AM. Meaning...they have to go to bed at around 8PM to get in 8 hours of sleep. That is why most morning show staff live close to the station. This is a general rule of thumb and can vary depending on other factors. As another example, in small markets in particular, the GM can do the 6-9AM morning show live and they put on a sales hat and go sell advertising the rest of the day, as they manage a staff of 3 full-time people.
