I think Marshall is capable of winning both. ODU and JMU should win. Louisiana should be a win. App should win (should have this year) and USM is a 50/50. Maybe Troy starts off a Tulane run against KState. Several others are winnable, but worse than 50/50.

USM plays at Miss. State on 11/18/23.

Luke Fickell got off to a slow start at Cinci and think he might at Wisconsin as well...

I like App St @ UNC, Wake @ ODU, and Marshall @ NC State also.

Feel like 5 P5 wins should be the floor this year. Anything less would be disappointing.

App will be breaking in a new QB and UNC will be setting a potential Heisman candidate with a vendetta loose. Gonna be a tall task for the good guys.

Perhaps I'm too optimistic, but I see 7 or 8 that I think are winnable. That doesn't mean they are in the bag, just possibilities. Two or three seem very likely, the others more like coin flips. I'm thinking at least 4-5 wins come out of that.

Meh, if we have a dramatic bounce back season, I feel good about WF and maybe VT. But a new OC and unknowns there right out the gate @ VT might be a tall ask.

There are 18 P5 games.

If you're 10-point dogs in all of these games (I know that's not realistic but just using that as a typical spread), statistically you can expect to win around 20%, which is 3 or 4. People always want to look for the matchups that look good on paper and forget some upsets will happen and some teams will be better than you expect.

I give USA a decent chance against Oklahoma State. OSU is coming off a 7-6 record and lost a ton of players to the transfer portal. Especially on offense.

Right?! That was the game plan last season for sure. Maybe with a new offensive coaching staff for an entire off season and not fired in September we'll be just fine. =]
