I am pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Cincy has been playing at a high level lately. It is a quality, Q2, resume building win. And beating the Bearcats - the Tiger tormentor -is always welcome.

Congrats to the Tigers! 04-cheers

The mention of his name - like Voldemort - makes my blood turn cold.

Will be interesting to see which version of Memphis shows up. In 2 out of 3 of its road games in conference they allowed a boat load of ppp to each team that beat them. Temple was more of a struggle to score for both teams but I’m convinced the rims In Philly are like those amusement park rims where the balls barely fits,

I like UC’s chances at home though. Especially with the way Memphis seems to allow a lot of open 3’s..
UC has 8 games where they hit double digit 3’s.. if Memphis leaves Nolley, JD, Mika or DeJulius open, they usually will splash them at home.

Mika shooting 48% in league play from 3
JD shooting 32% from 3 (he’s either all hot or all cold)
Landers is 50% from 3 In league play
DDJ is 33% in league play and 37% on the year.

Also interested to see if Memphis defensive rebounds better this game. UC could feast on the boards if not.

Biggest concerns are stopping KD but more importantly, stopping Williams who can exploit UC’s not so great interior defense.

Interesting stat: if you start the advanced metrics on Dec 15, UC is 24th in the country in T-Rank ok Bartovik. Memphis is 67th In that same time period. Injuries have hurt Memphis but they actually helped UC shorten the rotation and define roles.

We're gonna get creamed. Nothing to stop anyone in the paint right now. This is a must win, and we'll be lucky to keep it within 10.

Playing for next year I think.

Even if we had lost @Cincy, it wouldn’t had mattered that much.

We win convincingly and we had 2 starters out.

No one is playing for next year. Not us or anybody.

Those publications must suck.

It wasn’t a must win. We were on the road at a good teams home court while being underdogs, and it ended up a good win, and not a good loss. Possible Q1.

What's are you upset about? It was my opinion. If we lost that game we'd be fifth or sixth in conference. Nobody in the conference will get in if they're fifth in the AAC. Nobody. Maybe nobody who ends up third.

With that win we might be second now. I'm calling that a must win and we got it.

I realize a loss wouldn't have been a bad loss. But a loss just the same. 14-6 sounds like an NIT team to me.

Not upset at all. I just disagree that a loss would be “playing for next year.”

With a loss, our net would still be in the 40’s.

Temple beat Houston and they are 6-2 in the conference while being in 2nd. They still arent making the tournament because their NET is bad.

What a game! So proud of the Tigers.

Lock in and let's go on a run!

We must play Cincy in the future. Penny has made it public he doesn't want this rivalry to go idle, I imagine it's up to Cincy to continue.

Memphis came ready to play and I was impressed with the cutting and passing of Memphis, especially in the first half.

Penny is having his best in game management and best X’s & O’s season in his career. He’s adapted as a coach and is clearly learning more every year and is taking good inputs from the good assistants he has on staff.

UC and Wes Miller aren’t good enough to beat a top 50 team even at home . Hopefully Wes is the right guy but he may need to make some staff changes to upgrade the defense and offense.

That's cool. All I know is when we lost to Tulane we dropped 25 spots in the NET. The win today might have us now back in the 30's. We needed that win today. We went from bubble to probably 8-9 now.

It was big, and if UC gets back to winning it could get us another Q1. They were 78 NET I believe before the game. Don't know what they'll drop to after the loss, but if they end up 75 or better thats a Q1 because it was on the road.

Keep in mind that the snow storm, AND the Bengals playing today kept the crowd down. That helped us too.
