Without any strong teams in the league it is very likely there could be a tiebreaker for the all important 4th place. And the Sun Belt has an imbalanced schedule with 14 teams in the conference so that was JMU’s only chance to play Troy.

If it comes down to it, JMU owns the tiebreaker over Troy.

I guess the same can be said for tomorrow’s game against Brett Favre university. Only one chance to play them and it could very well be the tiebreaker at the end of the season.
It is unfortunate that both of these games are on the road but that is the luck of the draw.

Right now, JMU is one game out of 4th place and the double bye that comes with it for the tourney.

You are correct that last night's game was huge as far as end of the season seeding. We now hold the tie breaker with both of the teams that we are tied with. If we can pull out a win at USM tomorrow night that will put us in a great position. Win tomorrow will be tough as Southern Miss has not lost on its home floor this season.

Including last night, we had a game left with each team ahead of us....can't ask for a better chance than that

Ugly non-loss...

Confirmed it was in fact Freidel who spoke. He told the ref that when he watched the replay he would see he had made a bad call. Not quite as bad as getting T'd up for saying and-1, but a lot worse things get said every game.

what a little b11ch referee lol.

I only watched the last couple minutes. 6 seconds to go down 1 point and we "chucked up a 3" and lucked that it bounced and went in. I hated everything about that game-winning possession except that it was a game-winning possession.

Probably did not deserve to win tonight, but the win tastes just as good and looks the same in the standings.

The dukes stole victory from the jaws of defeat.

Suck it Troy.

Possibly not, but Troy also didn’t deserve to win, and Troy was playing with 3 extra players on the floor wearing stripped shirts.

A very poorly reffed game. The phantom calls, like the one on Molson that fouled him out, were absolutely atrocious.

This was a great, never say die, we’re not going to quit win for JMU. And another road win to boot.

This JMU team is flawed, but it’s got heart. It fights. It’s frustrating to watch, but it’s worth watching.

Go Dukes!

Well said

Byington had said after prior game that team still wasn't playing best ball. The one wild card, to me, is Molson. He's not currently the same player as he was before. If he could turn it around, that would make the team that much more dangerous. None of us have seen the Sun Belt before and as I keep saying it's a tough league with size, skill and athleticism, exactly as Byington had claimed upon joining the league. To have any chance in Sun Belt tourney, seems like you have to make the top 4.

during the 3 game losing streak, By said after one of them that guys were trying too hard to be "The Man".

to me, that was referring to Molson. He is not making the best decisions and forces things way too much. trying to impress for pro ball? methinks, yes.

Not to be overlooked, JMU was missing Sule last night. We need every player as the season progresses, especially given the uneven calls made by the refs in this league.

And there is a schedule that probably most on that participate on this board are aware of that is readily available if they are not already aware regarding the matchup and also probably have a clue of which team is at home and which one is one the road if they are paying attention to the sport.

Man, if that run-on sentence is AFTER the edit, I’d hate to see what it looked like before.

Atrocious officiating as has been said. Last call on Edwards even Byington called out in post game. They did everything they could to literally hand the game to Troy.

Think that was Offurum's best game as a Duke. He's team's best player when he plays like that, although Edwards was a close second tonight, with Morse getting an honorable mention. Wooden also played valuable minutes.

Not to be a downer, but what's happened to Amadi? Not the same player we saw as so promising as a freshman. He's lost his explosiveness and has become tentative. Also seems like Strickland's injuries have made him ineffective to this point. Same can probably be said for Ihenacho.

Great win in any event and perhaps can change team's fortunes with six of eight on the road during this stretch, including tonight.

I re-watched the OT and Amadi was jawing at someone going through the handshake line. Edwards had to push him through. It appeared that it continued off to the left of the camera and then you could see a few players have to drag him away. I am guessing there is a lot of frustration going on about many things with him.
