Outstanding game by both teams. Lockett played her best game of the season. And Brewer is now my choice to start in the paint. She shut down Kiefer in the second half and produced on the offensive end of the court. But I am increasingly convinced that the MAC season will be a real slog and it is difficult to separate Ball State, BGSU and Toledo. It will be fun to watch!!!

On a sour note, Soleil Barnes injured her knee in practice this week. Surgery upcoming.

I was busy and couldn't watch, but it looks like the Rockets had a nice response after the disappointment on Saturday. Gave up a lot of points, but able to score at the line (always like to see that against BSU with all the past games where they have seemingly gotten away with plays at critical points. Anxious to watch the replay.

Brewer played well in the second half. She was the difference maker. She should get more minutes in the future. Quit a disparity in FTs.

Ball State was 11-24 on three-pointers. Toledo was 4-16. The fact that we won despite those numbers bodes well for future match-ups.

I remember that last year in our MAC tournament loss Ball State hurt us badly with their centers setting picks and then rolling to the basket. Tonight, Cullop changed up the defense. Our centers did not hedge the pick, instead staying back in the paint. As a result, Becki got four or five open 15-footers as our guards followed her around the pick, and I don't think she missed a single shot on that particular play. Choose your poison, I guess. We have trouble defending Ball State, but tonight we out-scored them.

Really good offensive game from the Rockets with everyone contributing. Really liking Goss' play this year, as she may end up being the most valuable piece for this team now that she has added a really offensive punch to her defensive skills, and the fact that she can both post-up and hit the three is a real weapon. As others said, Brewer had a great game too, as well as Q and Soph.

Only one real bad for UT was the transition D. That was awful, as BSU got several run outs for easy buckets and had 10 fast break points pretty much just because the Rockets were not paying attention.

Don't know where Kiefer's performance came from tonight. I've watched several BSU games this year and she had been a non-factor in most all of them with Alex Richard seeing more of the time in the post and playing better. Tonight it was reversed completely.

Didn't like the two hard fouls on Goss by Becki. The one where she bear-hugged Goss, pinning Goss' arms while she was in the air was very dangerous. I don't know if the rules allow that move to be upgraded, but they should get that out of the game. Not the 1st time I've seen her commit over the top fouls like that. BSU always seems to have at least one player like that on every Sallee team.

Don't understand how the scorer didn't give Brewer an blocks, as she had at least one swat away that was beautiful. The UT official scorers always seem to miss at least a block or two in every men's or women's game.

Sophia definitively confirming that she is coming back next year. Will be great to have her for another season.

It did make no sense, though.

It's great news that Wiard will be back for another season. Having Lockett back as well would be amazing, but it seems likely that she will try to make money playing basketball next year.
