The Big 12 had 10 teams for a decade.

Now the Big 12 has 12 teams... and someone wants to change the name???

That's much better than "Just don't lose 65-7."

Sorry, Horned Frog friends.

All good. TCU snubs it's nose at every school that has ever been in the Big 12 and still hasn't won a playoff game, which is all of them. Poverty programs, every last one of you is so far beneath your TCU overlords you don't concern us in the slightest.

How about a Republic of Texas Conference. RTC if you will. Every school that would be in boundaries of Republic of Texas. Air Force I think would actually be just slightly out of it but put them in anyway to make it an even 18… see map.

Texas State needs that AAC invite before angling for a Big 12 invite.

Only C-USA and former C-USA members use versions or revisions in reference to their conference the BIG XII is The BIG XII the ACC was and is the ACC, the SEC. and ACC follow the same naming convention...

The big ten went to B1G, the PAC matches membership count, they are the only ones that have tweaked their logo/name.

I think a real sense of what the conference should be isn't going to be realized until we are all certain no more members are soon to be added.

I like the XII logo, I like the Big 12 name (at this point the 12 is meaningless, except for its history), so let's stick with Big 12. Besides, we already have so many phrases for all the teams we reference any way: Four Corners, Hateful Eight, whatever you want to call the newbies, i'm sure any addition on the east coast will have an equally catchy title.

I imagine if at some point if the eastern teams looks like WVU, Cinci, UCF, Pitt, VT, Louisville, Miami we can just call it the Big East in the Big 12

1.0 (1996-2012)

These boards can't call it the New Big 12 forever. What naming convention do you think is best?

Big 12 3.0
Big 12 v3
Big XII 3.0

*To be clear, this is just for the CSNBBS boards, not renaming the conference*

Big XII = P5

The Big 12 has cache. Even if we add teams just keep the Big 12 or Big XII. Shakespeare said, "a rose is a rose".

The PAC should have just forgot about 10 or 12 and just been THE PAC.
