Dukes come back home for a 4 game homestand starting new Thursday against Ap State.

The announcers were very good. Very professional. Enjoyed the broadcast, and the interview with Kiki at the end.

Team stopped chucking 3s and made an effort to get shots in the paint in the second half. SiMiss is a talented team. This was a big win. Hopefully the women can win all 4 on the upcoming home stand and take control of their destiny during the regular conference play.

Hope she’s going to be ok, and it’s nothing serious. She was in real pain tho.

Went with a very short bench today. Probably necessary.

Credit where Due: Coach did a good job at halftime. Much more disciplined offense in second half. Undefeated in SBC !!

That was an interesting game. I watched the last quarter of that low-scoring mess So. Miss won against South Alabama and figured they would not be that difficult to beat. I guess they're different when they come out loaded for bear. That said, I thought our girls did several things well. One was get their big center in foul trouble early. She's a deadly shot but she's slow and doesn't have a quick reaction time and Kozlova took advantage of that. (Towards the end when the two of them tangled and it got a little heated, my husband turned to me and said, "How do you say water buffalo in Russian?") Also for the most part I thought we passed better and took advantage of our height. Rebounding was close to even, and they stole us blind (10-4), but they got 13 more fouls called on them than we did. Those FTs made a lot of difference!

I hope Claire is not hurt too badly, but it looked like a nasty sprain, more than just a rolled ankle :-( I'd hate for her to miss too many games.
