5 teams (incl. 2 CUSA-6) in updated bracketology, 2 now in CBS 25 & 1
Houston is the first 2 seed in Lunardi's latest bracket, updated yesterday. They are also #3 in the CBS 25 and 1.
Memphis is the third 6 seed with Lunardi, just ahead of Auburn, and with Kentucky being the first 7 seed. Sweet. Memphis also enters the CBS poll for the first time at #26.
UCF is listed as "those considered," essentially the 9th bubble team out, so plenty of time for opportunity there.
Meanwhile, in the land of the CUSA-6, FAU is in with Lunardi, snagging the last at large seed, 46th overall, which translates to a non-play-in 12 seed.
And UAB is the second team listed in "Next 4 Out," so 6th team out overall.
Good luck to all.

UCF has shot at being a NIT team, Tournament is out of the question.

I also see UAB in the Next Four Out.
Looked twice, but no UNT on this list, either.

OP is now correct. Sorry, UAB. I actually like you guys, lol.
I've been to several basketball games at your arena. Always a blast.

why? you are a bubble team now.. your tournament chances are unequivocally alive and well..
hell, a medium seed (7-9) are still on the table if you beat houston in orlando...
im confused why the heavy pessimism. ucf could flop, sure... but why even say there is no chance?

The Knights are currently ranked #49 @ kenpom.com and #52 (NET). That makes them one of the more highly-ranked NCAA bubble teams.
They don't just have a "shot" at being a NIT team. At this point, they would be one of the more highly-seeded teams in the NIT.
The fact that they only lost @ Houston by 6 points suggests that UCF may be one of the top 3 teams in the conference, and that they could probably go 13-5 in conference play. That, plus a win in the AAC tourney, would give them 24 wins, and every 24-win team in the history of the conference has played in the NCAA tournament.

looking forward to renewing the rivalry... I made it to a football game in the LB back in the day (we somehow won - we had y'all's number for a few years there in football, somehow )
But I've attended a few home bball games vs. Memphis, and we lost each - including the one where UAB's Robert Vaden, who was killing it in points per game - went oh-fer-25 or something insane like that against y'all... so y'all obviously had our number in bball (well y'all had great teams, too, so...)
ANYway, as to our squad this year - talent is there, but the team chemistry is a bit inconsistent... if Jelly is off, a plan B is 'by committee'... but maybe we can work it out - need to soon, as FAU and UNT are each in the near future... would love to eke out two teams into the Dance - in any event, good that the 'top 3' are going to be AAC next season, hopefully things will stay strong, but of course Houston being a big loss...

This UAB vs. FAU game will be huge. I’m hoping that our starting SG is back from his hand injury. I didn’t realize how good he was until we were missing him. Respectfully the UTEP game probably doesn’t go to OT if he’s playing. He’s a huge defensive boost and shoots 3’s well

I think our fanbase is just used to the team looking promising in nonconference play and then collapsing. That coupled with our relatively short history of success in basketball, leads our fans to be pessimistic towards basketball a lot.
This team just feels different than previous years, less selfish, more effort, they don’t give up when down big, and more leaders. I personally think we end up as a 10-12 seed.
