Sam Howell didn't finish out well.
Dropped from a sure 1st rounder to 6th round as the Redskins emergency QB
Hartman is just trying to get into the 1st round.
At first he was going to Florida, which could have elevated his draft status if he did well against SEC defenses.
Now he's allegedly going to ND.
I'd rather seem him go back to Wake and re-write the ACC QB Career record books.
I don't see why that isn't slightly appealing to him.

RE: Sam Hartman Portaling
Seems to be a combination of $$$ and a chance to play in a pro style offense in hopes that it improves his draft stock.

He's transferring from playing 8 ACC games (featuring @Clemson, Florida State) + Vanderbilt, Elon, ODU and Notre Dame to playing 6 ACC games (featuring @Clemson) + USC, Stanford, Navy, Tenn. St, C. Michigan, and Ohio State.
Meh.

IF (still not convinced) he goes to ND, he likely will be on national TV and gets lots more exposure at ND than at Wake.
He also might think that ND has a good shot at the playoffs with him at QB there, perhaps much more so than Wake would.
NIL opportunities may be better at ND than Wake.
He also gets to tie into the nationwide ND alumni network for career assistance in case he doesn't make it in the NFL.

The ND good ole boy and good ole girl club is very, very strong.
Degrees and contacts from more than one place has always been good for me and my family. The only times it's a negative is when one school has a demand for total assimilation in order to represent them.
Hartman is probably future Athletic Director material given his physical stature so combining ND with WF puts him in the best possible position.
It's also important to point out that he's actually a Davidson kid.

Agree on all points. I was simply addressing the strength of schedule comparison.
