Tigers, Cardinals and Bearcats
Watching some of the Fenway Bowl and decided to look it up. Next season will be the 1st time since the Metro Conf was founded in 1975 that all 3 will be in different leagues. At least 2/3 have always been together whether in GMC, CUSA, Big East or AAC. The 3 of us should always be together IMO, but the conf realignment folks didn’t agree.

Our spot in college athletics would look a lot different had the Metro decided to sponsor football or that 16 team proposed super conf had happened. Oh well.

Just beat A&M tonight.

There has been a lot of "what iffing" about the Metro almost from the very end of that conference. It would have been great if it could have held together.

Just imagine a metro in the late 80s/ early 90s with-

Miami FL
West VA
ECU

Added to the metro 8, even if So Car left for the SEC. Remember that those Don Nehlen WV teams and ECU then were perennial top 25 teams

Yeah and now Louisville is in the ACC, Cincinnati is in the B12, and we are left behind in CUSA 4.0... Sucks.

I think it was mostly Louisville head coach Howard Schellenberger that proved to be the biggest obstacle.
