This series was rearranged back in the summer, when LU did so for CUSA scheduling reasons. Wasn’t Chadwell. We are making it clear they (LU, and now JC) live in our heads. Move on.

Be aware that many of the JMU posters seemingly obsessed with Chadwell may have been pushed over the edge when Chadwell moved to Lynchburg b/c several JMU posters were previously obsessed with Liberty and seek any and all opportunities to hate on Liberty b/c Liberty has different beliefs than their own.

I am often at odds with LU's belief system but I also believe in freedom of thought even when the thoughts don't coincide with my own

Brother, it ain’t even the JMU fans. It’s our own. I agree with your stated beliefs, mine are similar, yet I do understand people who think poorly of LU.

It goes way beyond that with Chadwell… Our fan base is acting like a bunch of first time jilted middle school girlfriends… Just cause it’s LU.

Two weeks ago people were happy for JC, saying he couldn’t turn down life changing money for his family, prepared for him to move on… to GaTech or USF, or wherever.

But it’s LU and now suddenly he’s the devil incarnate. It’s ridiculous. $4 mil/yr, top recruiting facilities and NIL, rising program, and a Christian school nonetheless, whatever you want to think of the admin/leadership.

People are foolish if they don’t realize, in this football “business” world, that it’s just a better offer. And no coach/player cares beyond that, they’re all hired guns at this point. Shame on us for not recognizing that.

JC to LU is an “us” problem, not a JC or LU one.

It's not what Chadwell did, it's definitely how he did it. McCall is having a far more honorable exit than the leader twice his age. The vast majority of the fan base is extremely happy for McCall to explore his opportunities and potentially get PAID. Many believe it's the right decision. The response is totally different. Tim Beck knew the players were hurt and disgruntled which is why he commented on it during his introductory press conference.

The way Chadwell handled his plan for departure was a major catalyst to the derailing towards the end of the season. We started to see things going South right after the Southern Miss game. Something went wrong in the locker room. The team had a lot to play for and the folding was hard to watch. Chadwell himself will tell you the team wasn't focused and that something wasn't right. Hmmm, I wonder what?

Maybe because it was Chadwell constantly lying, saying that he is "praying" and ambiguous on a decision that has already been made. Shady behavior. Was the leaking of Liberty's scheduled introductory press conference a day before the CCG just a coincidence? I don't put anything past Liberty. Meanwhile, this guy is giving halftime and post game interviews like he isn't hopping on a plane the next day...Absolutely not.

Sorry MOTIAW, that's a character move. There is definitely more at play than just because it's Liberty. It being Liberty University certainly doesn't help among the fan base, but it's definitely a number of factors as to why his exit is received the way it has. It's not just the fans. It's his own former players as well.

I think long term, Tim Beck will be better for Coastal than Jamey Chadwell.

Chadwell has now shown he will abruptly leave a program in a bad spot. He'll do the same to Liberty if he has success there and a P5 snatches him.

Tim Beck seems like if he leaves, he would at least do it more honorably.

Honestly I am always a little bit torn on religious colleges and universities, some certainly do it right but I'm just not a fan of when some let what they believe in their religion interfere with education of what we know. It's not the belief system that makes Liberty so hated compared to other religious colleges though, it's their history and the way they operate as a for-profit online diploma mill in the guise of a non-profit.

Honestly I am always a little bit torn on religious colleges and universities, some certainly do it right but I'm just not a fan of when some let what they believe in their religion interfere with education of what we know. It's not the belief system that makes Liberty so hated compared to other religious colleges though, it's their history and the way they operate as a for-profit online diploma mill in the guise of a non-profit.
