CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina University head men's basketball coach Cliff Ellis picked up his 900th career win in CCU's 102-39 victory over Regent University on Saturday afternoon at the HTC Center.

With the win, Ellis becomes only the third active coach with 900 career wins, joining Jim Boeheim (Syracuse) and Bob Huggins (West Virginia).

I'm sure it was an oversight on the part of my fellow Chanticleer fans not posting this exciting news earlier about their beloved coach! There's South Alabama history in that milestone number of wins too. I appreciate Coach Ellis's love for CCU and-- well, I'll just focus on wishing the team good luck as they are wrapping up a weird home and home series with South Dakota this season by traveling to Vermillion, SD for Wednesday's game...

It wasn’t an oversight. He needs to go. Should’ve been gone 4-5 years ago. They’re just letting him pad stats at this point. Pretty sure last week they played a team that isn’t even an NCAA school.

I think most Coastal fans are extremely apathetic towards the basketball program. It's not Cliff's fault. It's Coastal's fault for allowing it.

Fitting = A guy padding his bloated, 900th “coaching” win total, getting such a milestone over a non-NCAA doormat, by 60+, in a game that required ZERO actual coaching to win.

Exactly. They need a young energetic coach to kickstart the program. Funnily enough, the new women’s coach would probably be far better for the program than Ellis is at this point.
