No way buddy you made your bed with this one. Maybe another mod will action it but I won't. This is the individual that complains about snowflakes. Good luck with your legal battle.

I'm not surprised you don't see the difference between a joke regarding an opponent and one poster making fun of another poster's deceased mother.
Come on Purple, you know that is a stretch. 2Buck was making fun of you. Nothing to do with your Mom. To use your analogy I could say you were making fun of my wife with your shock collar comment. I replied with some levity instead.

Cue DDD to tell me how insensitive I am towards the hearing impaired and how he had to learn sign to communicate with his favorite relative.

Nah, I think they just whip them with a wire hanger like your mom did with you.

So, you think talking about my mother on this board is ok? What do you think, mods, is that ok?

I am neither a mod nor son of a mod, but 2Buck almost made me spit my coffee out laughing.

I'm sure it wouldn't be so funny to you if it was your mother they were talking about.

Come on Purple. I am not sure I know you, but I know a lot of these folks posting. None of them would ever attack someone’s family or joke about something like that with any malice or ill-intent. I am not going to explain the reason his comments were funny, but it has absolutely nothing specifically to do with your mom or how you were disciplined/not disciplined as a child.

Totally unsurprising that a board member that screams about "freedom of speech" gets upset when someone posts something he's personally offended by. Meanwhile, he makes a "joke" about an entire population of people (and an opponent) and expects everyone to be fine with it.

RE: Game vs Gallaudet
To set the record straight- I don’t care if Purple is offended. I am absolutely targeting him and not his mother. I have no personal vendetta against him, just tire of him crossing the line. Any yes, if you want to go ahead and slam me for defining “a line” in “my terms” you are free to judge and criticize me.

Some of y’all aren’t picking up on the second line of his post where he explicitly states his disregard and disrespect for a poster’s “favorite relative” and what they may have had to go through with a disability.

“Cue DDD to tell me how insensitive I am towards the hearing impaired and how he had to learn sign to communicate with his favorite relative.”

This is the epitome of a playground bully getting punched in the nose and crying to the teacher. Hope we can all move on from this and be a little more civil in an increasingly less civil world. Go Dukes!

This comment has nothing to do with the ongoing feud in this thread or any poster

Do any of us really believe freedom of speech exists without an asterisk?

* Speech is protected as long as speakers agree with whomever is behind the curtain filtering speech

Freedom of speech is a legal right. People are also allowed to criticize your offensive speech as well. Also legally protected free speech. A right to free speech is not a right to be free from criticism for that speech.

Its pretty clear that a lot of you don't like each other and have crossed lines you wouldn't cross in polite company. You have lowered your own standards to get back at someone.

I can’t speak for others, but my part in this convo would be unchanged in person. But I do think “polite company” is a qualifier that doesn’t apply to everyone in the convo.

I, for one, don't dislike anyone on this board. I certainly dislike certain behaviors, but would have a beer and cheer for the Dukes with Purple or any one of you m@#f#@kers.

Even years ago when Longhorn challenged me to a "conversation" in person, I'd sooner shake his hand than embarrass him in public like that. 03-nutkick

RE: Game vs Gallaudet
Challenging patently offensive speech shouldn’t be quieted down with, “guys, there’s a lot of good people on both sides”. People can take the criticism and do what they will with it, but words have meaning and crude words masked as a joke deserve to be called out as crude. It’s tough to take your medicine, and I say that from extensive experience, but it’s the only way people improve their behaviors.
