Outstanding matchup of conference champions in a logical, accessible destination. Glad to see this is happening.

I do think Nola would have been perfect for this matchup. Very close middle ground, drivable by both sides, great city, better date and time. However, this is still better than any other matchup we could’ve gotten.

So excited!!

Disappointed, not in whom we're playing, but because it's on a Friday afternoon and I won't be able to attend. As a middle school teacher, Friday the 16th is our last day of school before winter break.

Final CFP Rankings:
24. Troy
25. UTSA

UTSA will have a shot at both their first bowl and ranked win.

This is such BS. Both should get ranked P5 teams to match up with. Even the bozos on ESPN acknowledged this.

That's what you get when ESPN controls everything. That's why I don't get the love affair the Sun Belt has with ESPN. This is what they get in return from them.

RE: UTSA vs Troy in Cure Bowl
I was under the impression there were no longer any CUSA/P5 bowl tie-ins and that that was just another thing Judy had fumbled? I think even last year the "biggest name" opponent CUSA got was BYU and they're an independent. UTSA played a ranked SDSU.

Given those circumstances, Troy is as attractive of an opponent as we could've gotten. Love the match-up. I do think it's tough on travel and even TV ratings though...2 PM on a Friday is a weird ass time slot.

Screw 'em. Let's build our own thing. I love the matchup. Really good game.

2pm central game on a Friday afternoon. Most of the country won't even be off work until it's already over. Like the matchup. The time is about as bad as it gets. Low payout to my knowledge, and the TV ratings will be almost nonexistent for what's actually an interesting matchup between two ranked teams.

First line I’ve seen from the guy who tweeted all of the bowls early: Pick’em

https://www.actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/2022...ttMcMurphy

Still waiting on Vegas, but I can’t see it being worse than -1.5 either way.

RE: UTSA vs Troy in Cure Bowl
Yeah UTSA should have gotten a P5 match up.

Even the Independence Bowl would have been better bowl
IMO even though it would have been a rematch.

Houston is going to dismantle ULLafayette

Wouldn’t be so sure about that… Louisiana might be 6-6. But they could have easily been 8-4.

RE: UTSA vs Troy in Cure Bowl
this is not really the game either of these teams deserve though it should be a good game

and as for Louisiana vs uH well holgar looks at bowl games as drinking trips with some annoying work mixed in and he has already said uH is only going to practice 5 or 6 times for the game and they are horribly undisciplined as it is and his "system" on offense relies on being fresh and crisp which is why a lot of "air raid" teams struggle in bowl games and after bye weeks especially ones with lazy coaches that view that as time off to drink and polish suits of armor or burnish their cult of personality

RE: UTSA vs Troy in Cure Bowl
Coach Jeff Traylor did a Cure Bowl interview: https://youtu.be/zSHhBw-PkLY

Mid interview he said he was gonna meet with QB Frank Harris “in just a little bit, he’s gonna let me know and whatever it is I’m gonna love him, whatever that is.” This is right after talking about how UTSA needs everyone ready to play for the game.

Hold me.
