Clive Hallman
Clive, Professor of history passed away Monday, at the age of 92. I know many of the older JMU alums counted him as one of their favorite professors and a mentor.

An obituary has yet to be published, but at this time I’ve heard there will be a celebration of life ceremony scheduled in the Spring.

RIP Clive. You will be missed.

I came here to say the same thing.

Longhorn, thank you for sharing.

Enjoyed driving a JMU van down to Williamsburg for his summer history class at Colonial Williamsburg. I believe he liked to see everyone in the class have fun more than what CW was "teaching" all of us.

Oh so sad to see this news. He taught my Dad at Madison College in the mid-1960's and then taught me in the late 80's! I also took the CW class and had so much fun! I always liked giving him a hard time about being from GA and it being a debtor's relocation state! He would then say Brother Jeff that is just not true in his Southern Gentleman Accent. Such a great man! RIP Brother Clive

Dr Clive Hallman is a legend! I too did the summer CW class. He oozed Southern charm and was a true gentleman. He was was also one of the most entertaining professors and epitomized what a JMU should be. He could sip a fine bourbon and spin an even finer story. I know so many will miss him as he positively impacted many, many, many of his students. Here is to you Dr. Hallman. Well done sir!

Believe the class I took with him was "The Old South". Quite the gentleman and conversationalist. Enjoyed a good mint julep too! Rest in Peace sir.

Sad to hear this news. Went on the summer ‘Old South’ class many others went on that included a few day trip to Colonial Williamsburg. I will always remember him as one of my favorite professors as well.
