We are hearing Jamey Chadwell, unless Deion decides he wants to go to USF. Those are the two names that are getting the most traction. An announcement will be made this week.

They hired the Memphis coach, so why not.

Memphis isn't their in-state little brother.

That has repercussions though.

I think hiring Norvell from Memphis takes Memphis off of Deion's list of schools. If Norvell collapses, I don't think FSU would go get another Memphis coach. I don't think our administration would pay him enough either. Since the Big XII hopes collapsed our administration is feckless.

I read a lot of this stuff as saying "the deal is done but we don't want to announce it before our guy plays in his conference championship game".

Correct, and this would apply to both Chadwell and Sanders.

I was told
@DeionSanders
also wanted full control of Football ops and the opportunity to bring his son
@ShedeurSanders
as QB. Obviously no clear starter at USF. Shedeur just signed NIL deal with…wait for it…
@TB12sports
Now
@TomBrady
and Shedeur will play in same stadium! Wow!

I’m also told
@DeionSanders
demanded the On Campus Stadium be completed as part of the deal and done in an expedited process. This move would also put
@USFFootball
to the front on the line for next CFB expansion. BTW USF hosts
@AlabamaFB
and Nick Saban on Sept 16th!
@aflac
Bowl?

Hmmmmm, I wondered if Jackson State and SWAC were talking about FBS in hopes of keeping Dieon to stay at Jackson State?

Perfect time to go to USF.

Cincy, Houston, and Central Florida Golden Knights are leaving.

Tulane may be losing their coach.

The American is up for grabs.

Deion goes to USF, crushes it, and sets himself up for a bigger stage in a couple of years.

Not so fast. UTSA is coming in next year, and they are just as strong as Tulane right now. The common team that Tulane and UTSA played this year was Houston. UTSA lost by 3 to Houston, and Tulane almost lost to Houston. UTSA still have their head coach. I say UTSA may be a threat to win AAC conference championship next year when they join.

Agree that UTSA football is ready to rumble in the AAC from Day 1.

100% this. This is a way better job than CU in terms of satisfaction and even viewership with ESPN.

Hiring a really successful coach from an in-state little brother is kinda what Brand Programs are supposed to do. You know you've arrived when they can't do that anymore. Which, btw, is the biggest reason I think SMU still has a ways to go. They let a Brand steal their coach, and now he's one win away from the CFP.

UF and FSU can and will steal any coach from any other team in Florida, any time they want, except from each other. Georgia takes what they want in Georgia. tOSU takes what they want in Ohio. To suggest otherwise is to ignore reality.

Your administration needs to be on the ball, there's a decent chance another 5-10 teams move up within the next decade and they don't want to get left behind. If it happened today you guys would be in though.

Great post.

I do think that Deion would be a massive hire for USF though, and would definitely get them closer to the front of the line for P5 promotion going forward.

We are in serious trouble at the moment. State money is being siphoned off by the city and the boosters are sitting on their wallets. This could be a little bump in the road, but it doesn't feel that way at the moment.

Supposedly he was at USF very early this morning, 5:30 am. Likely to avoid being noticed, and to get back to Jackson State. I do not know if this is true, just reporting what we've heard.

I don't think JP Peterson is going to make up information. This is what he heard from his sources.
