high school playoffs will hurt casual attendance too. Of course, it probably would be affected just as much on a Saturday.

Hoping to see a good contingent of Green on the Riverwalk and in the Alamodome!

we should've won the CUSA title our first year in the league, but UTSA had other plans. Here's our chance to grab it on our way out the door and who better to take it from than those guys.

any NT historians on the board correct me...but I think we've won at least one conference title in every league we've ever been in

It was a good topic, but a mod moved it to their Off Topic board, not because it was off topic, but because he said it was being mean towards a certain Memphis fan. Just wow. 01-wingedeagle

On top of that, it’s a much better drive for Denton than it is from WKU. I was hoping to break 41k this year but I’m not even sure if we’ll be seeing the high 30’s at this point.

I’m not gonna miss Friday night conference championships.

I was super excited to go to the game and then I realized it was on Friday. That's so dumb. So many of us are not going to be able to get off work in time to make the drive.

Pro tip:

Go get a Covid test Thursday.
Take off work Friday out of an abundance of caution.
Wait for test result.

If negative: no sense in going in to work for just a couple hours. But Maybe there’s a game you can go to.

If positive: stay home watch the game on TV please. And hey you get next week off, too!

That was a brilliant idea on skipping work. Covid testing could be used forever! This isn't the first rodeo for some of you guys!

Not enough hate in this thread.

I rooted for UT-San Antonio when they played UT-Austin so I know for me that means I dislike those other guys more than the Runners

Still been monitoring ticket sales, yesterday both home and away sides finally sold out. Atm, you can only get tickets at the end zones.

It’s taken a lot longer than I thought it would but I think today is the day they open up sales to the upper level.

I seldom comment in conference Forums other than the AAC, but feel justified due to your personal attack and other posts intended to rile fans of AAC schools.

There appears to be a misconception about my posts’ purpose concerning the impending AAC membership of the CUSA6. I do not smugly assert the superiority of Memphis. I know all too well success or failure rests on a knife’s edge and the Tiger program is besieged with threats (eg, sufficient NIL funds) severely hindering its ability to complete at a high level.

It is the Tiger’s precarious situation which heightens the need to find the best candidates to replace the departed three.

I have repeatedly and factually demonstrated not all of the AAC’s selection were based primarily on performance. I further asserted improvement is necessary for the AAC to retain its top spot among the G5.
None of those two statements should cause controversy as they are plainly evident.

if you want evidence that our culture has gone soft, look no further than someone taking being called "a whiny little b***h" on the internet as a "personal attack".

Even being called a name in person doesn't quite equal "a personal attack". I would think calling someone that in person might open one up to a retaliatory personal attack...

Quote:Personal Attack: Making of an abusive remark on or relating to one's person instead of providing evidence when examining another person's claims or comments .https://www.yourdictionary.com/personal-attack

The word b***h is considered so abusive when fully typed out on this Forum the word appears as *****.

The AUP addresses personal attacks. It is a serious offense. Other than exhibiting good manners, it is the main reason I never launch personal attacks.

I don't take exception with your opinions, just the way the opinions of the new additions are marginalized. Sure you and others wanted the AAC to grab only programs that were killing it on the fields and courts, but the reality is that we are in the middle of a fundamental change in the way college football/athletics operates. And those in charge probably have a better understanding of what it will take to remain the top dog outside of the Autonomous 5. In short, I trust Aresco knows what he is doing.

Again, having a relevant topic moved to the Off Topic board, based on the stated assumption that some fans, including you, would get riled up, is just sad. I don't think you complained, or asked a mod to move it, and a commend you for venturing over to state your case. For that you get a +2. I just think there is room enough for everyone to state their opinions without every topic by the new additions being relegated to the Off Topic board. But, I guess we will see.

Back to the topic...

UNT is offering students free tickets. Glad to see the university trying to get our kids down for the game.

So, I was wrong. Upper level not opened up still. Game is in a few days.

For reference, it was available this season against Houston and North Texas.

Not feeling good about this at all. Either they are brute forcing everyone to buy every last ticket in the end zones or they simply forgot/don’t care. I’m at a loss at this point, conditions were perfect to be in the 35-40k for this game. Not even allowing fans to buy at the upper level for championship against a rival seems crazy to me.

It's a Friday night game. UNT just isn't going to be able to travel like we could for a Saturday game. Especially when at least half of our fan base still wants Littrell gone.

There are also a lot of UTSA fans in the Houston area and elsewhere who normally attend Saturday games but can't make it to this one. I was able to take a half day off from work on Friday to be able to make it, and am bringing three others with me (and maybe a fourth because I bought 5 tickets). But I personally know of several UTSA fans in Houston who can't take off on Friday.

Nonetheless, last year's championship game was on a Friday night, and we did end up with 41K. Gotta give credit to WKU also because they brought a pretty good contingent even though they're about 1,400 miles away. For some reason though, I doubt we'll hit the 41K we had last year even though we're currently riding a 9-game winning streak and this year's game is between two heated rivals just a few hours apart. Hope I'm wrong though.
