I agree, I wouldn't mind giving Hensley some run as the backup 5. He can spread the floor on offense with his three point shooting and brings more on defense. I'm not really convinced by his rebounding either though.

Ugly end to the half

That was a disastrous last 4-5 minutes after playing ok most the half.

Final possession of the half, Davenport loses sight of his man and gives up an easy backdoor cut layup... Some things never change.

That was a brutal half.....

Wes is such a high level coach. Has UC up by 1 at the half.

Don't want to overreact to one half in the second game but I'm seeing similar issues on defense from last year - guys over pursuing, missed assignments on the perimeter, not boxing out, etc. Yeesh.

Man oh man, this team is definitely always going to make things interesting.

Completely different from 3 days ago (yes, opponent matters there), very little ball movement, lots of dribbling around the perimeter and rushed moves to the basket late in the shot clock. Defensively, they're a complete mess and somehow still only allowed 29 points.

UC's defense is just not good at this point. It's been way to easy for Cleveland St to get to the rim. Looks like last year.

UC needs a good point guard. They don't have one right now.

I think the offense at least looks like it is trying to do something, but the last 5 minutes they committed a lot of turnovers.

Makes sense now how we lost to the OU Bobcats in a scrimmage. We're just not that good.

Lahkin 8 points and 6 boards with a block in the first half. That's very good production at the 5. Unfortunately also had a bone headed TO in transition when we should've been holding for the last shot.

With how bad we are at rebounding, I wouldn't be surprised if Skillings somehow finds his way into starting minutes by mid-season. Skillings needs to improve on defense, but he seems to the it factor in rebounding. Long, athletic and willing to go after the ball.

Skillings is the only guy other than Vik (and Newman, but he's hurt?) who seems to actually want to work for rebounds.

Too easy to get to the basket for Cleveland State. They've missed a lot of easy baskets. Shot selection and overall decision making for UC still suspect.

Not a good half. Hopefully they can rebound

He is such an infuriating player to watch at this point. If he played within his game he could really contribute in some ways, but he tries to do WAYYY more than he has the ability to do and ends up being a net negative most nights at this point.

It’s the fact that he’s allowed to that drives me crazy. Like how low has the bar fallen?

I'll take the bone headed TO's over playing Ezikpe or Ody. The mistakes will drop as he gets experience and he will make more good plays as well.

According to the box score we have two guys with more than one rebound. Lakhin with 6 and DDJ with 2. That seems about right. Davenport and Nolley need to do more on the boards .

2 turnovers for 15 minutes then 4 the last 5. That's why the game isn't close to double digits.
