One of our posters has said that Jerry Palm expects five 5-7 teams to be in bowls.

So there is hope.

And that Rice has the best APR of the likely 5-7 teams, so the Owls get picked first.

Hoping for Myrtle Beach. Wife and kids are looking for an excuse to go to the beach this winter and that one seems to be the easiest option to make work for me. Would go to any of them except Bahamas and Hawaii. Just easier to have a happy wife along for the ride.

I may be the only one who feels this way, but a team with a 5-7 record doesn't belong in a bowl game. Why should you be rewarded for having a losing record? It's the "everybody gets a trophy" mindset.

Why should anybody be "rewarded" for a .500 record, or a 7-5, or an 8-4? I am old enough to remember when 2 losses took you out of consideration.

The ones getting rewarded are the bowls, who would have to fold if enough teams were not allowed.

I agree. Would be nice for the Owls to earn it with a 6th win against a quality conference opponent. I don’t expect that to happen in Bowling Green this Saturday but maybe next week at home versus UTSA.

And, if we lose all three plus lose the bowl game, there is hope a 5-8 record spells the end for Mike Bloomgren. Especially if none of the four games are close.
