Vandy has some good physical athletes who can shoot. They are young and should improve. It’s a good win for us but I’m glad we played them early in the year.

And their starting 5 are not that young. Certainly not as young as the broadcasters made it sound. I think they start 2 juniors and 3 seniors. To listen to the broadcasters, we had 30 year olds playing against their 16 year olds.

They were in the same spot last year. 13/14 on most polls.

Kentucky played there and won by 12
Tennessee won by 8
Alabama won by 2
LSU lost by 9

Those were all tournament teams.

They beat another tournament team, Arkansas, at their place.

Memphis won by 9. It was a good win.

Just looked at a half-dozen SEC projections and I see them from 9th to 13th. Didn't see any last place predictions but I am sure there are some out there. Regardless, they are definitely in the bottom third of the conference out of the gate. Having said that I think it was a solid true road win so I am happy. Gets much tougher at SLU!

This fan of both Vanderbilt and Memphis can honestly say that was a quality win for the Tigers.

If you are not familiar with Memorial Gym ... it is challenge for players competing there for the first time (as was the case with all the Memphis players). Odd visuals and "feel." Elevated court. Benches on the end lines. And the old girl gets stuffy when it's warm outside — as was evident last night.

The Tigers — and Tiger fans — should be pleased with this victory.

I wouldn't want to play there. Enjoyed watching a game there, but it was stuffy that night too.

Vanderbilt should have opened with a cupcake.

It's very interesting to see the playability of KD, it almost lools like a "spidey-sense" in basketball how he operates to creat easy opportunities for teammates

Vandy fell to VCU last night. Stackhouse got ejected and had to be restrained by a cop going after a ref.

Instead of going off on ref, he should have been in his player's face.
