2023 Baseball Schedules
Bummer we don't play GS this year. I would love to drop Marshall for GS for the RPI boost. Road games against USA, CCU, UL, Troy, and ODU is brutal. At least USM is at home.

Just checked and ours is not posted yet. But I guess I’m too OCD or something but right now I am all in for fb so it’s hard to switch to baseball/basketball. Although might be easier this year, lol. We will see Saturday evening…..

RE: 2023 Baseball Schedules
It's going to be weird to not have our midweek games against USM. And I wonder if USA travels to USM first or if USM travels to USA first. With USA going to Hattiesburg in football, maybe USM baseball should travel to USA this year to start.

That will be weird, but the later in the season weekend series are going to be fun. My guess is we will pick up some combo of LaTech and SELA to plug that gap. Maybe even Jacksonville State- we just had them in for a weekend series last year. I'm not sure about UAB but that would make midweek sense as well.

Fairly weak OOC schedule if the end game goal is to host a Super. But again, that really isn't a concern when you lose the players that TXST has lost since last season.

I'd love to have subbed Rutgers, Michigan, Iowa, or Illinois for Northwestern
Lamar or DBU instead of UTRGV
Mcneese instead HCU
SELA instead of TAMU-CC
Houston instead of PV
Baylor instead of UIW
Texas Tech instead of ORU
Creighton instead of NDSU

There are a lot of subs that could have been made to keep RPI intact but I guess maybe that's just nitpicky. If we couldn't swing a home and home with A&M I think we earned the accolades last season not to pay a return road trip to UTSA. Not a fan of the long road trip to Grand Canyon or UTRGV either they should be playing us in SMTX

Northwestern was a late replacement for Mizzou after they backed out late.

RPI for OOC. Not great but better than one would think. GCU is a great road series for an RPI standpoint.

8 - Aggie

34 - TCU
40 - UTSA
55- GCU
104 - ORU
116 - SHSU
129 - NDSU
140 - UTRGV
162 - Northwestern
180 - HCU
183 - IWU
185 - TX A&M-CC
271 - PV A&M

I just think it could be playing with fire scheduling 9 OOC games with a prior season rpi 125+ especially when TXST already plays 9 conference games at home against RPI 179, 200 and 247. It would just stink if TXST pushed close to another 50 win season and barely eeked its way inside a top 25 RPI again.

Southern Miss's Schedule has not been released yet. However don't worry I'm sure you will see USM hosting the Championship.

I think he misspelled "hoisting." I'm just glad our league is getting better and we should get more at large bids.

Based on last season's RPIs we could get as many as 7 teams in if the stars aligned perfectly and each team improves a little from last season. With 14 teams we will definitely trade too many conference punches but I still like our chances to get in 4-5 teams. We had 4 teams go last season and that was before the adds of USM and ODU. To maximize the number of teams we send we have to have something happen like last year where the team who wins the conference championship wouldn't have otherwise received an at-large bid in Louisiana. That happens and we can send 5-6

We're probably not the only East team that can say that.

The east is a 3-way race between GS, ODU, and Coastal.

The west is Southern Miss, Cajuns, Texas State, South, and Troy...have fun with that.
