FWIW, the CUSA board has been inundated by all the new schools joining in 2023. It's much worse there with the newcomers than it is here. The CUSA6 as you call it, really don't have a place right now.

I will be glad when 2023 starts and things are more settled. This season is a real crap show when it comes to conference alignments.

This is about the biggest pile of feces posted on this board. Moving from CUSA to the AAC without UCF, Houston, and Cincinnati is just a tick above being a lateral move.

That's the way to make friends and influence your new conference mates.04-chairshot

.

This thread is 3 pages long, and I'm the only one who did what the OP asked and posted my grades for each of the CUSA6 teams.

No one has questioned or challenged the grades I posted. Thus, all I can conclude is that no one has disagreed with them seriously enough to offer a different set of grades.

Tiger1969’s way of coping with his new reality has been fun to read. Dude keeps saying AAC should have added a sun belt team as if they were an option.

That's a personal attack? Try going a Memphis game as an opposing fan, you will learn how personal attacks are done by the experts...... LOL My kids learned all kind of colorful language basketball and football.

Glad to have NT coming along with us.

At this point, I'm starting to respect Tiger1983's commitment to the bit.

Personally, I don't believe Aresco took the best of the rest after the failed coup attempt of the Big 12 and MWC. Aresco took the programs from the largest cities that he could get his hands on.

In other words, he pursued the same failed strategy CUSA employed without input from ESPN?

RE: The C-USA6 After Week 7?
Not sure why we have this thread.
We don't play in the AAC, we are still in CUSA.
I still think moving to the AAC is a great move for FAU even if UCF, Houston and Cincinnati won't be here next year.
The teams that remain in the AAC have bigger names than what we have in CUSA.
I hope the new teams making the move next year; bring a positive impact to the conference.

Thanks for making my point. Besides, NTU cannot be a peer with any AAC school now since NTU is not an AAC member.

I understand your enthusiasm with escaping CUSA6 with insufficient performance compared to alternatives, but legacy AAC fans dread next season like a long, dark, cold night void of much hope of a sunrise.

No moral victory. We lost. I made that clear. But, Memphis certainly didn't dominate UNT in that game, which from all your crowing should have been an easy win. No, UNT and Memphis do not share a conference at the moment, but we have in the past and will again soon. Even so, on the football field we are peers. Because on the football field Memphis is not some power program.

In our exchanges I have never asserted Memphis is a football powerhouse nor have I ever boasted about the Tiger’s relative success. The Tigers are. however, better than UNT although that is a modest accomplishment at best.

My points have been consistently and repeated stated, but somehow it eludes you. Let’s try again. Simply put; performance metrics indicate UNT is a liability, a drogue, a fetter, a burden to the AAC. And the AAC could have done better.

Wow. It must suck to be you. I hope your life gets better. I will only add this.... If the AAC could have done better, they would have done better. It's not like the AAC chose a lesser option. They took the best that was available. Aresco's no idiot.

Personal attacks - the last refuge of those bereft of the powers of persuasion. UNT did not earn their way to the AAC by feats on the field or on the court, but only through the calculations of the bean counters at ESPN. Do not forget it.

If you took my observations as a personal attack, I apologize. It was not intended as an attack. I just take a more lighthearted approach to being a fan. Sure, I dump way too much money into UNT athletics, but not so much that their success or failure dictates the quality of my life.

Those that were paying attention know that I gave several hints as to ESPN's interest in UNT. In short, ESPN really likes the way our AD runs UNT, and in return values the potential of where he can lead us.

When our AD stepped up and proposed UNT host ESPN's National Basketball Tournament during the COVID year, ESPN was able to cash in on having two weeks of live sports instead of reruns. The Mouse remembered UNT when it came time to evaluate the changing AAC line-up following the Big12's poaching. Also, UNT has won three straight C-USA basketball titles. So, we've arguably done more on the court recently then any of the other new additions.

After Week 10, how do you grade the incoming members....

(1) UTSA 7-2
(2) UNT 6-4
(4) Rice 5-4
(4) UAB 4-5
(8) FAU 4-5
(11) Charlotte 2-8

(Place in C-USA standings)
