Can you imagine adding FIVE fcs call-ups within a short period of time ?

There is a reason NO G5 league has EVER added that many in a 2-4 year span.

It would be extremely self destructive.

Actually I think the SBC added 4 between 2013 and 2016....AppSt, Coastal, GaSo, and TxSt.

Edit...GaSt was also added during that span.

3 of those 4 worked out pretty good.

Who are you trying to throw shade to ? TXST ? GS ? ASU ? CC ?

TXST has the best overall Athletic Program in the SBC, and the others have done pretty well in Football.

All 4 were winners for the SBC.....

This has nothing to do with Texas St.. C-USA posters here are discussing expansion ideas. No shade to anyone in the mighty SBC.

I'm sure the SBC would love to see C-USA add three of Tarleton, SFA, EKU, and KSU-- ALL at once. Then laugh at us all the way to their spot in the new CFP tourney--- since they would be the much stronger league (seriously) and we would be in the cellar below the MAC.

WHOOPS! I was wrong on that point!

BUT I will still say that APP ST and GA Southern (both with large fan bases, facilities, support) were more
ready to move up than ANY of the current choices left to C-USA.

Can you name ONE current candidate that can stack up with APP St other than NDSU??
The well is dry. There are no slam dunk additions available. I was merely pointing out the fact the SBC did add a bunch of FCS schools in a short period of time.

Im not in favor of adding anyone right now but i believe additions will happen sooner rather than later. If we do, id rather add schools with decent/avg football that have solid basketball as well, something the SBC didn't do with most of their additions. CUSA's niche needs to be a solid basketball conference at the G5 level. We won't easily contend for the top G5 football conference but we can contend for being the best G5 basketball conference.

Texas State was FBS when the Sun Belt added them. They were in the WAC for its last year of existence in FBS.

Good catch. It's easy to miss that TxSt had been FBS since they performed so bad against FCS moveups. TXST was FCS but moved up to FBS in 2012 in the WAC for one year before moving to the SBC in 2013.
