It’s like someone from the Bengals organization saw a Memphis and liked that uniform. I wonder if they have to pay us royalties.

When I started watching the game that was the first thing I noticed and said to myself jokingly.

The Bengals have worn stripes for a long time.

True, but unless I'm misunderstanding the articles indicated this was their first time wearing the white helmets.

I brought up a design for Memphis uniforms wearing stripes a la the Bengals unis for Memphis in 2009... Sporting blue helmets, black stripes.
I was met with a resounding NO.
I feel somewhat vindicated...a man ahead of my time. 8-)

Why didn't you use our colors---our colors are blue/gray---not black----and not white like we are wearing tomorrow-----why not green or yellow stripes-------where does it stop--------NO STRIPES-----wear our LOGO

I am a Tiger fan...have been for 50 years now.
I don't owe you or anyone else an explanation about color schemes I like or anything of the sort.

Those uniforms looked great. Hope Tua is ok

Best description I saw of them was they looked like a cheap knockoff of the storm troopers on Star Wars. Sums it up perfectly. Wish Memphis would ditch the Tiger stripe helmets forever. Got an awesome school logo that looks even better now with blue and gray Tiger. Slap that on both sides of a white helmet and be unique instead of copying a lousy NFL franchise.

I agree.

I have enjoyed all the various uniforms. I like some better than others.

But

When I see Notre Dame or Penn State play, I wish we had something simpler that just reeked which team we are.

The Athletic Department received a cease and desist from the Bengals regarding those helmets (and I suppose the uniforms as well) about three years ago

I agree.

I just don’t get why we don’t use our logo more. Heck, I’d even love to see helmets with the cursive “Tigers” over the stripes or the oversized logo/ number they’re wearing tomorrow. And please never wear the 901 again. So dumb

I agree. Our logo should be on our helmets… period.
