As expected we are right on the AAC for best G5. They have an FCS loss but better OOC slightly and one game advantage over us.

Makes sense. The new AAC will be the weaker conference. They still have Cincy, Houston and UCF which are a combined 8-4.

For the last 100 years, but especially with recent changes, conference relative strengths have post-season ramifications.

If the AAC wants to continue being oblivious, or pretending this is beneath them, I have no problem with that. Overconfidence creates opportunity

Hypothetically the AAC could keep it's foot on the gas and hope to stay out front of the Sun Belt. Good motivation from behind. Rising tied lifts all boats. While the Sun Belt is driven by regional rivalries and whatever happens happens. We'll enjoy the ride while the rest chase whatever inspiration develops from the Sun Belt and they know it. Expect more spit balls from our peers. Their hoping to scrape some honey off the rivalry pot from outside. It's pathetic and kinda sad and the circumstance for pretty much everyone getting left out of P2 consolidation.
