****Week 5: Middle Tennessee vs UTSA, 6:30PM, Friday, Sept 30, CBSSN****
less than a week after shocking the Miami Hurricanes, Raiders are an underdog at home.
Blackout night.

ESPN is still showing MTSU with a 63% chance of winning this game.

Should have a large crowd on hand. Lots of people making their first game in a couple of years. I am hoping for a win but expecting the typical Stock letdown.

With all our injuries, we struggled for two quarters against a weak FCS. Finally gained our footing in the 2nd half, but it has me concerned for our game in Murfreesboro because I'm not sure how many of those guys we're getting back yet. Don't know what happened to y'all in that first game of the season, but you've played really well since. There's a very real chance we'll start 0-1 in conference.

Really looking forward to watching this one. A good showcase for CUSA and hopefully a very good game.

Yeah, held there for a couple days now, but it actually started at -6.5 if I remember correctly.

Middle seldom rises to these occasions when all eyes(relatively speaking) are on us.

One year we should have beaten BAMA (got screwed by refs) and the next week lost at home to SEMO, for example (referencing PiKapp's post above).
There are many examples

Geez. You just had to remind us, didn't ya? Maybe this one time we can actually ride a prior Football game victory to a really meaningful additional victory, especially on Nat'l TV while showcasing Kevin Byard's jersey retirement! At least, we hope so.

Maybe we got the major letdown out of the way week 1...

UTEP fans are very familiar with this syndrome. In fact, we may have invented it.
Recent examples are;
All the local hype and biggest crowd in a long time for the opener this year vs UNT. Big loss.
Last year's game at Boise St, national TV and the Miners playing well. The Miners lay an egg.
Last year's home game vs UTSA, the Runners ranked, good crowd, national tv on espn2, the Miners not competitive.
Can't seem to cope with lots of eyeballs or pressure. Following up the win over BSU could be a problem along with Charlotte's passing attack.
So good luck to the Raiders on the heels of that huge road win over a ranked Miami team.

I am flying down for my first MT football game in 4 years. Additional family is going to the game too, who canceled season tickets last year but will be going back for the first time tomorrow. Might get 20k+ if not more

.
Funny how a lot of programs seem to have the monopoly on choking in the big game while on national TV. It is called pulling a "Western" in Bowling Green. Despite the fact that WKU has a bunch of huge wins in prime time.

Middle by a 7
I think they will force UTSA to beat them with the Arm of Frank Harris and those very good WRs. But the game will be won or loss with Middle passing. If the Middle QB does not turn it over I think they take and hit enough shots to win this game
