RE: Football Injuries
People lie and make up bvllsh!t all the time on FB and social media, so it always needs to be vetted and checked.

With that said, and it could be true, buuuuuuut Huskies On Tap made zero mentions of a Hampton injury in the EMU preview episode and even said that Rocky said this is the closest he's been to being able to play again (without saying anything definitive) but that (in Brandon's words, not Rocky's) this team is going to have to put up 30+ points in every game whether the QB is Rocky or Ethan.

So, if this was something, 1) Brandon (I don't think) would try to hide it and 2) appears to have no idea it's even a possibility. Seems like if he had surgery, it wouldn't be a secret.

I'd never fully rule it out as being true, but I'd definitely classify it as unlikely until more information comes out.

RE: Football Injuries
I don't see posts often enough on the NIU FB group of people talking specifics to injuries to think this isn't real. This post was so specific that it would be odd to make up.

Also, Brandon on Huskies on Tap has admitted he's barely been to any games this season. He said he thought Rocky would be back last weekend and he wasn't (and he talks to Rocky on his Monday show). I don't think he is in the know like when he was still on campus.

To make the best of this I am excited to see if Justin can throw. Or even to see Lomax or Fletcher. Nothing against Hampton but I think we can see what he is. A passing QB who needs time and reps to improve.

If JL5 is our QB tomorrow, I do not think we will see him pass except for a very short pass. Knowing Hammock, all we will see is Lynch handing off or running himself. Hammock will not change. All EMU would have to do is load up the box for an easy win.

If Lynch is the primary QB tomorrow, there's no way in hell Hammock doesn't have him throw. This isn't Pop Warner.

We all know he can throw because he did it last year with Temple. Btw, the Owls got their azzes kicked last night. woof...

Either way, I have no idea why he hasn't thrown but we know he can and there's no way Hammock goes into a game with a QB who only hands off and runs the ball.

Back when Jordan played, the majority of plays were runs (either Lynch or a RB) but he threw enough to keep the defense honest. And since the D had to key on the QB so much, his passes (when completed) were damaging because the D had to focus on stopping whatever was coming out of the backfield.

I don't know enough if Justin can be as good as Jordan. No one knew Jordan would be as good as he was until he was like a junior or something (sophomore at best). But Jordan was never considered a passing QB, but they found the strength and maximized it.

Looks like this may be Justin Lynch's team the rest of the season. Time to let the man throw.

I saw that FB post but I have not seen it reported elsewhere and I have been hoping it is B.S. ... Hammock is pretty closed mouthed regarding injuries so we might not know until Saturday.
