I don’t think we can blame him for this one.

I just see the guy as a small, uninspiring leader. always safe, never bold.

Well the last guy is still around Memphis. I heard he was even at the last game. Hire him back

He was better than this stiff.

I though he did a good job. He just pissed his boss off but now that boss is gone

He certainly helped build the football program.

We've been playing 1-aa schools for the last 20 years. Why does this one offend you?

Don't we also have Boise next year at home?

We have Boise but our conference schedule will be really watered down (no Houston or UCF like this year). Boise is not the same school of 10 years ago and also doesn't have much local sell.

stAte on the road. Mizzou would essentially be two road nonconference games (if we keep the game). North Texas would have been 3 nonconference road games, which I don't think we've done in recent memory.

The Bethune-Cookman announcement probably means Missouri isn't coming (no surprise) and we're positioning ourselves to have at least 2 nonconference home games.

With our current options do we:
a.) Play Mizzou in St. Louis
b.) Try to schedule a one-off road game with an available, bigger name P5
c.) Schedule yet another cupcake at home
d.) Try to sign a home and home with a lower level P5 with availability like Georgia Tech

I hope we don't go option c.

I'll also be interested to see how the new conference affiliation + watered down home schedule (presumably) will affect season ticket prices.

i assume they will go up,
with having only half a stadium in 2023

We'll have a full stadium in 23. Only in 24 will the west side be worked on.

To me, this says we HAVE to go play Mizzou in St. Louis. If we don't, this administration has simply thrown in the towel on football. I don't know how else to take this.

100% correct. We play Missouri in St Louis, or not at all, bringing in who knows what as a replacement.

BCU played at Miami earlier this season. I noticed a lot of FBS programs playing SWAC teams recently. I just don't get this game though. Heck play Central Arkansas or Arkansas Pine Bluff before BCU. At lest those guys might bring a few fans.

Their schedules might already be full for next year. Remember, this isn't a Let's Play, you check your schedule and I'll check mine. This is a we need a replacement game for a specific year.

Boise has as much "local sell" as anyone on our schedule not named UTK, MissStake, or Old Miss. This will be a great series.

There has never been any intention of playing Mizzou on the road this year. Not sure why you are considering that recent development, but not the older development that we will not be playing UNT on the road. There were never going to be 3 OOC road games.

The B-C announcement is the annual announcement of who our buy game will be. It has nothing to do with Mizzou. We were always going to have a buy game.

I'm okay with any of the options you list, depending on the economics - which you and I will never really know. From a fan perspective, I like home games so I'd go with c or d. Option d would be my first choice - but I'd set my sights on an old conference rival like L'ville, Houston, UCF, or Cincy.

What I was getting at is that Mizzou at a neutral site is essentially one less home game. There's no way we were playing in Denton, St. Louis, and Jonesboro all in the same year and this just cements that Mizzou isn't coming here (otherwise we would have just scheduled BC without canceling our return game with UNT.

good lord hearing y'all you would think Bama, Clemson, Georgia, and ND were all beating on our door wanting games...they aren't...scheduling means they have to want it too.

We don't have to necessarily play those guys in your list. But playing someone in CUSA,MAC or even OVC would be better than SWAC. Maybe it was the short notice or availability that drove this matchup.

Yep. Lotta guys on here should submit their resumes to the University because they clearly can do a better job. I mean, you just call up Saban and say “hey Nick, get your ass up here to the Liberty Bowl”. I mean, how could Bama say no to that line of reasoning! What’s so hard about that. Might as well just set up a Teams call with the fellas at Georgia and Ohio State too - get them to negotiate against themselves. We’ll just take the highest bidder. Problem solved!

The Big K Drop Red Soda is vastly underrated. A real sleeper for taste and value.

Some of you need to chill the hell out.

Notice scores the first few weeks of the season. They're a common "warm-up" game for the likes of Miami, Florida State, South Carolina, etc.
