Six draws and only one win. Does anyone like the new rules about OT.

No! I think it really hurts the teams with more depth who would show out in OT. It also may impact how the lesser teams play- more to not lose (tie) than win. I assume the point of this is to limit game time for the students?? Do any other NCAA sanctioned sports do this? I can’t think of one… consider the ODU/JMU men’s game. Hard fought game, physical and tough on a hot and humid day. To end the way it did in a tie without opportunity for the W was wrong IMO.

It's happening on the women's side, too. 11 of the 30 games have been draws.

RE: Men's Soccer
I am a huge fan of the OT rule changes. Internationally, soccer is played in 90 minutes, and there are chances and opportunities to win in 90 minutes. From what I'm seeing, there isn't a significant change in the number of games won or tied nationally, and playing the additional 30 minutes 5 to 8 times a year is like playing 2 additional games in what is already a condensed schedule. I think not putting the extra physical strain on the athletes is a huge benefit of this change.
As far a CCU being 0-0-5 in league play, I've watched 3 of those games and they have fully committed to a 5 man back and we're dedicated to a park the bus strategy looking for a prime counterattack opportunity. I have no issues with CCU being 0-0-5, it's the choice they've made this year.

Yes and Yes, and after 90 minutes, it's a draw. Unless it's a knockout stage and you have to advance a winner.
90 minutes is in line with the game internationally.

Sorry, the park the bus mentality is basically saying we can't win playing actual soccer. Isn't fair to the players. Jmo.

RE: Men's Soccer
Kentucky has earned the #2 overall seed and a Regional.
The SBC will probably get another placement in the field; likely WVU or Marshall. We need someone else to take the tourney and get that auto bid.

RE: Men's Soccer
Marshall will host one half of the SBC Tournament with a win tonight. Kentucky is already hosting the other half. (Men's Tournament is divided into 2 4 team brackets at separate sites, with the highest seeded bracket winner hosting the title game on the 13th.

RE: Men's Soccer
I believe a Marshall/JMU tie would also give MU 2nd place.
A tie would mean MU and WVU have the same record however MU holds the tiebreaker over WVU, having beaten them 1-0.
I guess a UK loss and MU win would result in co-champions in that they will have the same record and the head to head ended in a 1-1 tie.
