No one cares about G5 vs G5 matchups. It’s nice if we win them, but CUSA or the AAC gets zero national publicity for beating us, and vice versa.
All that matters for the G5 conferences is winning against P5 teams, full stop.
Marshall beating Notre Dame is more noteworthy to national perspective than losing to Bowling Green 100x in a row.
Absolutely incorrect.
There's a share of CFP money available The higher your conference finishes, the more $$ your league gets.
Losses to other G5's hurt. They hurt more than losing to a P5.
I’m not talking about the finances. I guess I’ll just keep repeating this since it continues to be ignored. National perspective, no one outside a tiny niche cares if Ga Southern lost to UAB. They all know Ga Southern beat Nebraska. Full stop.
Yeah and there’s a Cotton Bowl appearance for our conference title winner. Conference SOS matters as well as big OOC wins. That’d be good for national perspective. I hear ya, USA and ODU manage to hold on a little longer and the rest still lose who cares about UNCC beating GSU or Louisiana getting beat by Rice, except their fans of course. It was a stinker of a day but the worst is Marshall & App not win in dominating fashion and be tickling the top 25 and we have multiple teams in the pole position for the access spot.
Like I said, regardless we play in the Fun Belt and conference play is upon us and it’s gonna be fun.

Ain't that a hell of a predicament.

It's not like everyone played miserably. ODU, Marshall, South Alabama, and Georgia State weren't blown out. The endings didn't go their way, but teams learn and grow from that, and hopefully handle those game situations differently when they happen again.
The biggest story to come out of the conference this week was still positive (our Hail Mary while hosting GameDay).

I just can’t get over how poorly we played at Rice. I’m really hoping this was the kick in the nuts we needed.

Crazy thing about the series is the Cajuns have won eight of the last ten with both losses coming at Cajun Field.
Last time the Cajuns lost in Monroe was 2004.
