Harvard is Not What It is Cracked Up to be
They hired Mr. Potatohead to spin his "wisdom." Those poor students, having to listen to this clown. Me thinks this elite school ain't so elite.

Ex-CNN anchor Stelter to discuss ‘threats to democracy’ as Harvard fellow

Quote:Brian Stelter, a former CNN host and noted media pundit, is joining Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy.

Stelter will serve as a media and democracy fellow and convene a series of discussions about what the center described as “threats to democracy and the range of potential responses from the news media.”

“These discussions with media leaders, policy makers, politicians, and Kennedy School students, fellows, and faculty will help deepen public and scholarly understanding about the current state of the information ecosystem and its impacts on democratic governance,” the school said in an announcement.

Stelter parted ways with CNN in August as his long-running Sunday show focused on the news media was canceled by new network President Chris Licht.

A polarizing media personality who often took heavy criticism from the political right for his comments about former President Trump and conservative media outlets, Stelter was previously a media reporter at The New York Times before joining CNN.

Never has the term educated idiots been more relevant than the times in which we now live.

They hired DeBlasio to teach political science also.

I think it would be worth it to drive to Harvard, put on a MAGA hat and simply walk around campus to watch them all start flopping around on the ground.

I have to admit, hiring a deep-in-the-tank partisan-Democrat flack like Stelter is extremely on-brand for the Kennedy School, in particular, and for Harvard, overall. I think they’ll be very happy together.

If Stelter’s academic lectures are anywhere as scintillating as his interviews on CNN, his students will have some extra time to text their friends and think about their dinner plans.

The hardest thing about any so called top school is actually getting in. Once in, they aren't all that different than normal schools. You are paying for the connections.

Surely that has been done and can found on YT somewhere.

More or less true, and I think the widely held belief (hell, it's kind of beaten into us as children) that going to one of these schools automatically makes one "elite" or better is very damaging.

I know 2 white guys, both ivy league grads, that specifically married black women so their future kids could check the african american box on ivy league apps. Competition from Asians is fierce.

People, for a long time, have tried to or marry into some sort of Royalty or certainly an upper CASTE system, converted changed religion to get ahead....lots of that stuff historically. The guys I know understand, as far back as 20 years ago,
their kids being able to check that AA box is huge. If white, asian, and AA all have the same scores Harvard is going bring in AA, even if their scores are a couple of notched down. To them ivy league is a must although you can get the same or better education at UMass or UConn. Both are New Yorkers born and bred.

But yeah racial and ethnic discrimination in university application acceptance is wrong and should be illegal.

In truth, he's more fit for an academic approach to news than he is to being on TV.

He's creepy.

This thread reminded me of the time a freshman at the University of Chicago confronted Stelter about his bias.

Harvard, and specifically Harvard Law, like most "higher education" establishments is nothing but an echo chamber for the left.
