RE: Most non-conference road wins vs P5 over the last 5 years
That’s nice, but I would say only the G5 comparison in valid. How many times does the Big 10 or SEC actually go on the road non conference? Most those teams play 7-8 home games a year. I looked up Ohio State once and they, at the time, had only played like 4 non conference road games in the previous 10-12 years. The lower level P5 will go on the road, but usually as part of a 2-1 or 3-1 with a G5.

Yeah the SEC and B1G certainly don't go on the road much, at least not their best teams. Still neat that we top them though, and very impressive that we top the rest of the conferences.

Right. This is more for comparison to other non power conferences. All I really care about at least.

What’s more impressive about this list to me is that I’m assuming that is for 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. The first 4 years we only had 10 teams, so less opportunities to get those wins.

CFB has got to get away from these lame neutral site games. Campus is where it's at.

I'm not talking about neutral site games that are every bit as Established in teams' traditions as campus games (UGA/UF in Jacksonville, TX/OK at the Cotton Bowl, Army/Navy at an NFL stadium, maybe a few others).

But I hate these early season neutral games in Orlando, Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans, Charlotte, etc. Freaking London and Dublin, too. There are enough neutral site games with CCG's, bowl games, and up to four rounds of playoffs.

All these Sun Bellt games held on campus are awesome. Notre Dame @ Ohio State was good. Alabama @ Texas? Good.

Am I crazy or is he shorting us a game?

Appalachian State - 2018 - North Carolina 34-31
Appalachian State - 2018 - South Carolina 20-15
Appalachian State - 2022 - Texas A&M 17-14
Arkansas State - 2020 - Kansas State 35-31
Coastal Carolina - 2019 - Kansas 12-7
Coastal Carolina - 2020 - Kansas 38-23
Georgia Southern - 2022 - Nebraska 45-42
Georgia State - 2019 - Tennessee 38-30
Louisiana - 2020 - Iowa State 31-14
Marshall - 2022 - Notre Dame 26-21
Old Dominion - 2022 - Virginia Tech 20-17
Troy - 2018 - Nebraska 24-19

I guess it's possible he's not counting Notre Dame as P5 on a technicality?

That ODU win vs Chokies is at home for the Monarchs.

To be fair, the SEC is tied for second-most on that list. I am suprised to conclude they must be better about going on the road than some of the others. I would have guessed the ACC led amongst P5 conferences, but they must do more losing on the road than the SEC. It is clear from this list that the PAC12 and Big10 are worst offenders of staying home.

The Big Ten and Pac 12 play nine conference games a year and both canceled their entire 2020 non conference slate.

The SEC and ACC have built-in that each has four road games every two years against each other (L'ville-Kentucky, Clemson-SC, Ga. Tech.-UGA. Florida State-Florida). The Mississippi schools, Vanderbilt, Mizzou, and Arkansas seem to do lots of P5 road games as well. The Alabama schools, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas A&M, less so.

ACC schools do lots of P5 road games. They just lose a bunch of them.

This is a list of OOC P5 Wins, not just OOC wins.
The P5 do play each on the road. They play almost all non P5 at home, with some exceptions.
