Unfortunate disadvantage of being G5, if your coach is successful he will inevitably be taken by a P5. Even Boise State lost Chris Petersen after many years there.

Even if you suck it up the P5 school just pays you many millions to go away. It's a win-win for a G5 coach.

By losing yesterday and getting fired today, Frost keeps $7.5 million more than he would have had he hung on for 3 more weeks.

It’s good work if you can get it.

I know I would appreciate being paid $15 million to go away. I'm sure he will easily pick up an assistant coaching job, if he wants one. Or he can just go on vacation for a while and enjoy getting paid to not work...

I believe Scott Frost is a good coach. It just seems he had a lot of misfortune at Nebraska. It's unbelievable how many single score games he lost, and the talented recruits he brought always seemed to turn into duds.

I think he'd be a good fit at Texas State. He'd bring a good shotgun spread option offense.

He would get another shot at GS.

I think there are coaches that are great at certain levels and then get promoted to failure. Doesn't mean they aren't good coaches anymore. It just means that the last position was one step to much up the ladder. I think Frost is a good coach and will be back on a sideline before too long, maybe in the Nick Saban Rehab program or maybe he'll rehab himself on his own terms on his own sideline.

Yep. The last of the greats in terms of Nebraska QBs. I know it was his dream job, I feel bad for him in a way

Eric Crouch won the Heisman as Nebraska's QB about four years after Frost left.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I think the further I get away from college years the more things involving dates get fuzzy. At this point it's now entire date ranges.

Boos were only heard when Frost didn't go for it on 4th and inches. Fans around me pointed to Frost, but also mentioned difficulty recruiting in 2020's vs 1990's.

Will Muschamp - 2013 Florida
Mark Richt - 2015 Georgia (just took him to OT)
Scott Frost - 2022 Nebraska

Maybe if we could start doing it enough, coaches won't get fired when we have a good game. There have been a lot of "close calls" against P5's over the years including FSU, Ga Tech, Oregon St, NC St, Auburn.

I think we've played Miami, FSU, LSU, Clemson, Alabama, Florida all in years when they won NC. Florida and Nebraska were having down years.

Getting coaches fired is kind of an SBC tradition, isn't it?

TXST got Houston's coach fired and did we get stAte's coach fired, or someone else, also?

Our coach got himself hired at Utah St. No I think they are starting realize that was a mistake.

Hey A-State guys - wasn't Frost the head coach at UCF when they supposedly/allegedly disrespected stAte in that bowl game in Orlando? I cannot remember the details . . .

GS’s new coach is USC’s loss, because he’s obviously got the Eagles playing at a very high level. Your transfer QB looked completely under control against Nebraska, and he has an excellent arm. It’s also obvious your WRs were ready to catch some balls instead of being used as “wide-blockers” in the triple-option. GS is going to be a very tough team for everyone in the SBC!

No hurt feelings here. A nominal 5 second research that ESPN did (if that) behind that statement would yield a crap season last year, not to mention a few years before that - the beer chugging incident, and a history with an offense that is automatic dismissal of any relevance. Is what it is.

I mean, one team was 3-9 last year and the other 10-4.
