RE: Liberty *** Game Thread ***
the worst part was ,,how we lost the game ,,,we run the same play over and over ,,,we were lucky that we have great running back ,,,without them we will have below 100 yards offense ...coach look lost with Time out , keep doing the same clark mistake with Time out ,,,,the punt returner like usual make the wrong decision ,,,he did that all last year ,,,and we keep it there only later during the game ,.,,,it was yet difficult to pass the ball maybe a more athletic qb will be a better choice ,,,,do we have one ,,,yes we have one ....but he didnt play
i like UAB but a lost this weekend will end the aspiration for this coach to get the HC and it is gonna be a good thing for the future of UAB ,,,,,,he can talk a good game but he cannot be hc
UAB had aspiration of being a top 25 teams,,,,we end up losing badly to a very liberty team who barely beat a bad USm team ...we are back 10 years

And you two probably fall in the category of being content with a CUSA Championship and there is nothing wrong with that.

I was at the game (I think I just dried out this morning) and was close enough to see the teams at the line of scrimmage pretty well several times. It wasn't even close, we were bigger and faster at nearly every position. Once LU made defensive adjustments they just overwhelmed the O line with numbers and would crash the off ends on the zone play to prevent the cutback. We had no vertical passing threat and really never challenged their perimeter defense. Even a toss sweep would have helped just to get the defense to at least chase someone instead of filling gaps between the tackles. It was total offensive nonsense.

And that is the mindset we need to get out of in order to grow. Clark took us to that level, but we should not be happy with winning a bad conference, losing to bad teams every year, and having crappy, weird coaching decisions multiple times a season. UAB is bigger than that.

None of us are "content" with just a CUSA Championship. I don't personally know anyone that is. There is also no point at demanding a firing and going completely off the deep end when it has been stated over and over that there will be a coaching search. I don't mind being critical. What I witnessed was unacceptable for our program but going on and on every week win or lose complaining, (Yes it happens), like a broken record is what folks get tired of. I will go out and support this coaching staff and players until they are no longer here and hope that the AD makes the right decision.

I am not content, but this is 1 game in a long season. Now if we get another or 2 more of these, then changes need to be made ASAP. The game was painful, hard to watch and infuriating and soul crushing....but it was 1 game in a long season

Not disagreeing but what evidence is there that UAB is “bigger than that?” What makes UAB, who achieved very little in football until the program was killed, different than every other G5 school?

9/17 Ga Southern

We need to be loud and proud and hope the staff has a great game plan and players come with the chip on the shoulders or.......

going to go 1-2 to start this season....and the fan meltdown is going to be biblical....(its fun to read for me though)

Wrong assumption…never content after a loss but am realistic.

ESPN is projecting Marshall in a NY6 bowl right now. Not that they will get there, but it must be nice to even be projected there.

List of things that changed with the loss.
1. Ability for fans (Donor, current, future ticket holders) and players to get last year's loss out of their minds.
2. Ability to crack the top 25 which will create more interest and support.
3. Perception of new AAC took a hit.
4. Ability to do anything more than what we've already done with a team that many said was our most talented team yet.

Or wrong probability but whatever...lol. But what changed is the ability to compete for a NY6 bowl slot which is going to be wide open this season. For the first time in recent memory there are no G5 teams ranked in the Top 25 this week in either poll. I don't expect that to continue but the NY6 Access Bowl was a goal for UAB and that opportunity is now out the window.

They have as good of a chance as any team in the G5. I just typed this but there are currently no G5 teams ranked in either poll this week with App St and Marshall are sitting just outside of the AP Top 25. The road the NY6 Bowl is wide open.

OC Darin Hinshaw on Matt McClearin show earlier.
https://omny.fm/shows/the-matt-mcclearin...arin-hinsh

Both he and Vincent said that they didn't play Zeno because of the fumbles earlier and the conditions and didn't want to throw him out there in those situations.
They said Hopkins is the veteran QB and knows the offense and how to play in those situations.

Quote:"The plan going in was to play Jacob Zeno. The flow of the game and the situations of the game like turning the ball over on the first play. And then driving down and getting stopped. Just the flow of the game and the weather, I felt like it was Dylan's time to stay in the game. He is our starter and being in adverse situations, I felt like we needed to go with our starter.

Then why is he our backup?! Isn't that what a backup is for? To play when QB1 is either injured or not playing well?

Yeah the two sacks in a row got me.

Honestly, I halfway wondered if Dylan got his bell rung or something early in the game. He never looked in rhythm the whole game.
