Are they keeping the temp seats in the north end zone for this game?
I just looked at the App State ticket website. What is Black Saturday? Is that the reason why the JMU game was priced higher than the rest of the SBC schedule?

Black Saturday is just a name bestowed unto the biggest home game of the year. In the Socon it was traditionally Georgia Southern, Wofford, or Furman. You picked up that moniker by default this year because all 3 of our rivals are away: Marshall, Coastal, and Georgia Southern. I would imagine at least one of those (probably Marshall) will be flipped in the next season or two. As to why this game is more expensive, I wouldn't know.

Yes, Black Saturday usually sees a bump in price. It used to rotate between, GS, Furman, and Wofford. GS looks like our last game for future scheduling, as it should be. Maybe Black Saturday will rotate between JMU and Marshall. We'll see.

This is simple economics. The starting price for single game tickets is dictated by preseason sales (season ticket holders and visitor allotment).
Next year GS, Marshall, and CCU tickets will be priced similar.
Thanks for our fourth sellout. Troy get your act together.

Good to see you guys know we're more important than those bums from Chapel Hill
I'm really, really, really, really looking forward to this one. It's been way too long since we've played each other and it should be a great game... And a really great measuring stick for the Dukes.

Absolutely! This is going to be a great gameday environment, and hopefully a competitive game to match. It’s the kind of showcase for the SBC that makes the East Division the darling of G5.
I was at the game for Miracle on the Mountain 2.0. It was Thanksgiving weekend, so it wasn’t a highly attended game as few students were there. It was a very good game and we should have lost. Had we not won, we’d not have won that first national championship. If that doesn’t happen, does Armanti go to Clemson as a WR, instead? Do we not win any other NC’s? Do we not beat Michigan? Do we stay in the FCS?

are you referring to the JMU playoff game where Pierre Banks recovered the fumble when JMU stupidly ran a play? If so that was 2007.

LOLZ. I’m an idiot! Such a long winded wasted post! Just ignore the 2nd half of the post and carry on.

I think the monumental game that set all these things in motion was the 2005 playoff game vs Furman. There was a last second fumble caused by Jason Hunter that secured the game and setting us up for our first NC. If Furman wins that game, where would we be today? It is truly a defining moment in App football history.
In the first JMU-ASU game in Boone, JMU knocked out the Mountaineers starting QB, a Sr. who was good, but then Armani Edwards comes in as an unknown Freshman. JMU had no answer for him, and App St. wins the game and proceeds to win three NCs in a row.
The question really should be, if Armani didn’t come into play as a Freshman replacing an injured Sr. QB, does App win that JMU game, and go on to win the NC that year?
In subsequent years, if JMU’s HC doesn’t get greedy, and just has the JMU QB take the snap and take a knee to position for a field goal (instead of calling a play to run off tackle that results in a fumble*), and a short FG by JMU is good with seconds left in the game, then obviously App doesn’t repeat.
Oh, the memories! So glad we’re able to renew this rivalry at the FBS level and in the same conference! This is what college football is supposed to be all about.
*The RB who fumbled was a freshman, Alvin Banks, who later as a Sr., broke-off a 70+ yard scoring play, JMU’s first score in the JMU win in Blacksburg over a 13th ranked VT. Just the second time a FCS team beat a ranked FBS team, the first time being App St.’s historic win over Michigan.
