Well, game timing still seems be something networks and conferences haven't resolved.

Why are so many players fielding kicks so close to the goal line?

Yep. So thankful I am not a fan of that program. Perennial mid to low tier B1G program.

looking bad fir San Jose State, down 17-14 with 9 minutes to go.

Oh wait lucky unforced turnover on a punt, have the ball at Portland State's 29 yard line.

Cordeiro is a terrible QB, and yet they insist on passing instead of running. And as I say that they run a reverse for 12 yards. Still looks like a long season if things don't change.

RE: Thursday night games thread
Was tired throughout most of the Penn State game but did see the final Penn State drive! Really happy! Purdue will be talking about that no catch for the entire season. I hope they rebound. There's no better college announcer IMO than Gus Johnson, if you don't care about the teams, he makes you want to care.

I would have preferred a game like this later in the season and/or as a Big Nooner but I have a feeling that just like last year's Ohio State/Minnesota game on FOX it will get a relatively large viewership (probably not as large since Ohio State > Penn State). If they get 5 million, I expect these early season Big Ten conference games to stay although it will be interesting to see which network gets them. In 2023, CBS needs their seven conference games at some point and they can't conflict with SEC Games of the Week so the first two Saturdays are open. It wouldn't surprise me to see a "1B" conference game on CBS Labor Day Weekend or the second week.

Between the Brawl and Penn State-Purdue, it was a great night of CFB.
