Next year we’ll see how 4.0 does with Jordan McCloud.

I gotta say, it's nice to hear Cignetti take the muffler off and say what he really thinks now that the season's over. I kinda like the guy.

After seeing CC speak during Coaches Caravan I had a total different view of him. He was extremely blunt and transparent - it was awesome. Honestly all of the coaches were that way.

Coaches caravan highly recommended, all of the coaches are easy to approach and talk with. They probably do need to be a bit more careful about what they say in front of a microphone or television broadcast.

Assuming Todd Centeio wins POY and/or OPOY for the Sun Belt, that would mean our last five QB1s have all won a conference POY award at some point in their careers. That's a staggering string of success.

Whoever ends up coming next has some big shoes to fill!

I am assuming he is enrolling in January? 4.0 needs to play in the Spring.

If he’s healthy. Or “they” are healthy (implying more than one QB transfer.

Sure would be nice/wise (however unlikely) if a second QB transfer could be signed…someone like Jeff Simms. This is said anticipating that Bill Atkins declares for the portal, or that Billy gets moved to another position like WR, RB or even SS. If that happens, a team can’t go into Spring practice with only 2 QBs, one being a rising Sophomore with limited game experience.

I think we also need to do what we can to keep sunseri since his stock is definitely on the rise and I cant imagine he's content being a QB coach for much longer

Would love to keep him, but for what it's worth. He was the next in a pretty successful line of QB coaches it seems. So long as we have Cig up top, I'm confident in whomever he brings in next at any assistant position.

In order to keep HCCC, we better buckle up, because I fear that we could be in danger or him being poached by either Cincy, UAB, or by a school who lost their coach to Auburn. The comment where he said he can envision himself coaching for 10-15 years concerned me and could have been taken as a pitch to other schools.

Worry all you want (it’s a free country), but Cignetti isn’t going anywhere.

RE: QB Whisperer 3.0
Cignetti has also said things like the conferences being fluid and subject to change in a decade and therefore he wants to keep improving the program to position them in the best light. A lot of the signaling sounds like Cignetti found his niche and wants the challenge/recognition of being a program-builder.

I could be wrong as many UC fans thought Fickell would at least be coaching them into the Big 12 but then UW-Madison came calling. But you know what? UC is targeting some very attractive coaches, good problem to have. I don’t worry for the program, it sounds like Cig is just getting started and he’s having fun. I just hope Bourne’s successor keeps the train running - that’s an approaching factor soon.
