Exclamation Active discussions regarding Texas and Oklahoma leaving early for the SEC
Dennis Dodd@dennisdoddcbs

As a consequence of @Big12Conference starting negotiations early with rightsholders sources tell CBS Sports there are now active discussions regarding Texas and Oklahoma leaving early for the SEC.

As background, the Big12 is starting early (re)negotiations with ESPN and Fox to establish financials for any new members...

So, the dominoes might hasten other conference moves...

...yeah, this isn't good for the PAC... between the B1G waltzing with Oregon/Washington/Stanford/(perhaps)Cal, and the BIG XII looking at the 4 corner PAC schools, only Oregon St. and Wazzou would be left, and I even saw somewhere that THOSE two might even get a bone tossed to them by the BIG XII...

The obvious 'Blazer Angle' to all this is if the BIG XII gets 'filled up', then the AAC doesn't get poached for awhile... ...so by the time that 'next round' comes by, WE might be a candidate for the BIG XII and/or ACC... no, REALLY. I've seen UAB mentioned in a few of the realignment threads here and there (no 'official' statements, but just we CSNbbs folk) - long shot, but not as far fetched as it seemed less than 5 years back, y'all... 04-rock

If I remember correctly, ACC looked our way for a bit (pre-Return). And Big 12 checked us out though not as much as ACC. “#1 Football market” was initial cause along with a foothold in SEC turf

...I've always maintained that the BIG XII would LOVE to plant their flag directly across the street from SEC HQ... 05-stirthepot05-stirthepot05-stirthepot
