A brief fact check here. The B1G deal does NOT include a pro rate expansion clause. The B1G reportedly has an expansion CAP near $10B, not an expansion guarantee.

“With nonstop chatter about further expansion and realignment, all eyes are on Notre Dame to see if the Fighting Irish will make the jump to the B1G. If it happens, all three networks have already agreed to a “specific” amount of money that will be tacked onto the media deal, according to John Ourand. The exact amount of cash the deal will be boosted is unknown.

The Big Ten is prepared if Notre Dame wants to join the conference.
However, no specific amount has already been agreed to if other teams join. Instead, the networks and the Big Ten will “have good-faith conversations” about “adjusting” the media deal.

For example, if Oregon does end up joining the B1G, instead of having a price already in writing and agreed to, all sides will have to return to the table and figure out how much the Ducks are worth.

The B1G wants 'academic fit' but AAU membership is not an absolute requirement for membership.

Realistically, only FSU, Miami and Arizona State are the non-AAU schools that would be plausible Big Ten candidates besides ND that aren't in the SEC.

Clemson is much higher-regarded academically as well as athletically than ASU. Or do you just think that Warren will want ASU b/c he went there?

IMO, UNC is #1 on the SEC/B1G wish list. After that, it's hard to tell between Clemson, FSU and UVA for second. All IMO are ahead of ASU on a B1G wish list.

FSU and Clemson have almost identical profiles - top 75 academics and a history of great success. UVA is a flagship in a very lucrative state that borders both territories.

But I agree, Clemson is very attractive. IMO it is nearly impossible that they would not be invited by either the SEC or B1G if somehow the GOR dissolved.

They really don't. FSU is approaching 2X the enrollment of Clemson (47K vs 25K) and will likely be at 50K+ soon based on the number of quality applicants and growth in the State. FSU is Top 55 overall; Clemson Top 75 overall. FSU Top 18 Public; Clemson Top 33 Public. FSU has a med school (that's rapidly expanding). Clemson doesn't. FSU's in a huge state. Clemson isn't. FSU is the oldest school in its state. Etc. Similarities, sure. Both southern state schools, very similar cultures, football traditions, etc.
