Brought this up months ago. You do not pay that much for rights with playing additional conference games. This will eventually push us to FBS or whatever they come up with. Not enough revenue to run a program with the payout games.

Having 10 conference could diminish the amount of BIG teams going to bowl games( Especially if they still have the rule that one of the OOC games has to be against a P5 team). That may not fly with all the schools. A 10 game BIG conference schedule could happen, but at this point, the odds are against it.

I would agree a few years back, but we are in a totally new era now. To get the billions the B10 will need to make their new partners happy. 20 team league means more conference games. Don’t rely on current bowl rules either. That eligibility thing will be gone soon too or at least modified to except losing records. Move to 5-7 and a lot of the issue would go away. I don’t understand how people don’t realize they really do not want teams like NIU at their party. It was tolerated previously, but not for long.

Yep. There will be two 20 team conferences: Big and SEC. They will control everything. Everyone else falls by the wayside.

Not to disparage anyone's opinion -- we're each entitled to our own -- but I can't see the Ohio State AD publicly commenting if any/all of this is unlikely.
With 10 conference games, they'll have 2 for o-o-c unless they expand to 13 or something. They need those 2 for o-o-c P5s, and there are plenty of P5 bottom-feeders out there. If a G5 does get a P5 game, it will never be here like Vanderbilt, or Missouri in a few years (if it happens). The P5s will want all the ticket, parking and concession revenue they can get, to go with their fill-it-up attendance mentality. Don't know what will happen with Missouri, but enjoy Vanderbilt at Huskie Stadium while you can.
If "payday" games get squeezed to no more than 1 per season, those ties with in-state FCS teams will be gold for HS attendance. Recall a few years back Illinois State drew 15,000-plus. There's also SIU-c, WIU and EIU and, if NIU can, draw in Northern Iowa and Indiana State. Those two as FCS will be really squeezed. In fact, FCS-at-P5 may be gone altogether.
One more note: more potential for o-o-c vs. other G5s, which we don't see a lot of nowadays if you think about it.

Not quite sure I get the idea of 10 conf games. 9 maybe. Most if B10 plays 3 ooc home games meaning all 3 would be on their networks. Some would be 3/3 if they went to 9. So they could easily reach 12…even 14+ games to televise on a weekend. Maybe less viewers in many cases than a conf matchup but way more games from 12-14 eastern on a weekend .

The B1G already plays 9 conference games and has for a while.

They are probably going to 10 and SEC will go from 8 to 9, then probably 10 once they get new media rights in a few years. Once you have two 20 team conferences, playing 10 in conference is pretty much expected.
