Perhaps a few of the Cornhusker legislators saw what happened last week next door in Kansas...

RE: Nebraska special session to pass stricter abortion laws is aborted for lack of votes
This is no surprise to anyone with half a brain. As I said right after Roe was rightly overturned, most states would not eventually change drastically in their abortion law. The fact is that altho most conservatives abhore abortion, a significant number are not in favor of completely banning it. Most want some restrictions (and that varies) but they almost universally oppose abortion after its a viable life. In most legislatures, even those dominated by Republicans, there are enough Republicans who will vote with all the dems to keep abortion legal.

I blame the FBI. For the moment, the right is too busy collectively losing its mind over the lawful search of a certain former President's winter abode to worry about the horrors of women making their own healthcare choices in conjunction with their physician.

Two points:

1. This just shows the leftist meltdown over RvW was an overblown, uneducated, reaction due to their belief that the federal government, not the states, should run everything.

2. There is a difference between a lawful search and the targeted overreach of a politicized DOJ. Even the left should be chilled by the fact that the DOJ is doing this. You should be afraid the republicans may stoop to the same level. Hillary Clinton destroyed 30,000 emails after they had been subpoenaed. Those documents included classified material. We all watched the director of the FBI essentially say she broke the law, but no reasonable prosecutor would pursue it. So explain how this is justifiable that they would raid Trump under the guise of classified docs when he had the unquestioned authority to declassify everything?

The primary thing you morons keep missing is that it isn't simply a healthcare choice involving a woman and her doctor, there's also the issue of the future persons right to life being infringed. The right to life isn't one you support, we get it.

Bill going thru Indiana still
2nd IN bill allowing tax exemption if you adopt, increases adoption credit, cuts tax on diapers. You would think that one would get bi-partisan support, but the Dems will oppose

Lot of states are fighting.

Not surprising. I think more of America is in favor of abortion up until something like 13 weeks.

Exactly. The Left---who claim that voter crave a completely unregulated right to an abortion----apparently is scared to death of voters actually deciding that question for themselves. Instead, the Left wants to dictate the law from a 9 member unelected panel. Well---thats not how democracy works. It will take a bit of time---but when this all shakes out the doom preachers will be proven wrong by the American people. In the end---my guess is that something similar to the Roe-vs-Wade compromise opinion--probably a bit more restrictive---will continue to exist most everywhere in the nation.
