almost every media poll has them way higher

Glad to see UC and Houston start out in the top 25. Bearcats have to win at Arkansas to start things off right.

A victory against Arkansas can get the Cincinnati back to the playoffs talk going.

About where I thought UC would start. Thought Houston would be more 18-20 range. Thought Arkansas would be 12-18 range.

All in all ok. UC ain’t making the playoffs unless undefeated and Arkansas wins the SEC. Hoping Indiana can get back to above .500 ball for SOS as well.

Coaches polls are more accurate. The media is full of idiots that don't know a football from a frisbee.

Standard G5 starting positions.

There were SOO many G5s in the top 25 last year and now were right back to the bias. THe only two allowed in were ones who have been deemed as P5 worthy, and honestly they still disrespected them. Cinci is low.

What has TX done to get ranked preseason other than be TX?

I think Houston being the favorite had more to do with their schedule missing the #1 and #3 teams from last year.

That's absolutely why they finished 1 vote ahead of Cincinnati in the aac media poll (despite Cincinnati having 3 more first place votes).

Whoever a writer picked to lose the uc at ucf game was likely picked 3rd. Houston got a lot of default 2nd votes

We have a preseason poll.. there is a favorite

These are a good gauge till the poll comes out..this would have been a good counter prior to the poll .. not now

Mark here, sit down.. houston is the preseason favorite..it okay, Cincinnati can be the post champ even without being the preseason favorite

There is a favorite and it’s houston.. Baylor is the big 12 favorite Despite Oklahoma being ranked higher in the coaches poll

Preseason polls mean nothing. We won't know how good teams are until well into the season. That's why the playoff rankings don't start until a few games into the season. Memphis basketball used to be the preseason favorites every year. Didn't mean anything at the end of the season.

housto was actually the preseason favorite (by the poll), but Memphis was ranked higher and had better vegas odds

but you are missing the undertone of post.. im not going to say "UC fans", 99% are fine with houston being the preseason favorite with the official poll out.. i Said houston is the favorite in the both sports like 2 weeks ago, a ton of UC fans insulted me for even insinuating houston would be favored over UC... after the poll came out most UC fans were like "okay, fine your the favorite but we are still going to win the league" --which is fine

but Mark specifically still refuses to acknowledge Houston is actually the preseason favorite - with constant bad logic posts to state why, because he refuses to live in a world that houston is seen as favored over cincy at any point.. what can you say he loves UC

Sorry... getting more second place votes in the AAC media poll doesn't make Houston the favorite. It doesn't particularly matter. It's just hilarious you are so insistent about it. There is no clear favorite in the conference this year. UC is ranked higher in many preseason polls, Houston is ranked higher in some others. UC had 3 more first place votes in the AAC media poll. Houston had more second place votes (because UC and UCF play each other and Houston plays neither...so anyone who had UC losing at UCF likely had UC 3rd and Houston 2nd). It's not complicated the understand that who you think is the favorite depends on what poll you are looking at. That being the case...it's pretty clear there is no consensus favorite.
