Vox Reporter Faces Backlash for Tweeting Prewritten Justice Alito Obituary
Quote:A senior Vox correspondent published a critical obituary of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, who is still very much alive.
In the since-deleted Twitter post, Vox’s Ian Millhiser blasted the justice, calling him the Republican Party’s leading advocate while sitting on the high court, according to a MediaIte report.
“August is a slow month so I’m spending my morning updating some of my prewritten obituaries,” Mr. Millhiser began his Tuesday Twitter post. “It is considered to be quite gauche to speak ill of the recently deceased.”
“Samuel Alito, who died on XXXX, was not devoid of any positive traits,” he added. “He [is a good] attorney and highly effective advocate for conservative causes.”
“Had he spent [his life] as a litigator, he would almost certainly be remembered as one of the Republican [Party’s] leading Supreme Court practitioners,” he continued. “[The] problem is that Justice Alito was, indeed, one of the Republican Party’s leading [Supreme] Court advocates–but he embraced this role while he was a sitting justice.”
Before the controversial post by the correspondent was deleted, a Twitchy user grabbed a screen capture that contains the majority of Millhiser’s post.
“What a sick f***er Ian is, trying to inspire someone to murder a sitting Supreme Court Justice,” exclaimed Townhall columnist Dereck Hunter. “Are we supposed to care if this backfires on him?”
An irreverent follower remarked, “Do Alex Jones next.”
“Maybe take a walk, do something nice for someone, take a break from Twitter,” suggested Twitter user @CandiceLen, “because this is creepy.”
It is not unusual for journalists to compose or update obituaries for public figures in advance, to have them ready for publication upon the subject’s death. It is unusual to publish them while the public figure is still alive and, presumably, in good health.
Justice Alito, 72, appeared in good health as he delivered a speech at a religious liberty conference in Italy last week, according to a New York Post report. The justice reportedly mocked Great Britain’s Prince Harry for criticizing the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.

I mean, it's Vox for Pete's sake. Might as well be the DNC. Anyone who reads it and thinks it's actually journalism has an IQ under 30.

It always makes me chuckle when people rail against a supreme court justice for being too political, but heap praise on RBG and the other left-wing judicial activists.
Morons.
