Same.

Coming off of such a bad season and with a new coaching staff, you'd normally expect the worst for a couple more seasons. But for one thing we seemingly showed decent talent in the first part of last season even in the losses to the better teams we played. And the schedule (probably) isn't too scary. And we both lost and gained double digits of transfers.

So, who the heck knows? So many of the usual predictive measures seem to be out the window. I'm hoping for 6 or 7 wins and a bowl but probably anything between like 8 or 9 and 3 or 4 wins is in play.

I don’t think LaTech can get to 9. Mizzou and Clemson are 2 loses so that leaves 10 games and going 9-1 in those would be very tough

To win 9, we'd have to do it 2014/2015/2016 style. 8 plus the bowl. It's not terribly realistic, but it's possibly in play. I also don't think 3 is very likely. That would mean a disaster.

I think LaTech is a bowl team. Hopefully they stay healthy and see some good structures out in with the new staff

Athlon, which is one of the best, is completely missing info on at least 7-8 transfers in LA Tech's case alone. The player they highlighted (LSU WR transfer Devonta Lee) announced on social media that he had surgery on June 1st. Nobody knows if Lee will even play in 2022.

I agree. 24/7 lists Rice with 6 transfers (3 3 star transfers) when actually they have 14 D1 transfers (8 FBS, 6 FCS) and it's 1 4-star transfer (from Notre Dame), 6 3 stars and 1 2 star. And some of the FCS guys will be big contributors too (at RB, WR and DL for sure). We have a WR transfer from Houston Baptist who led them in all-purpose yardage last year. Ask WKU how their HBU transfers worked out in 2021.

I don't know if Rice's 40 new players (the rest are high schoolers and JUCO guys) are going to be able to mesh with the 68 returning guys, but anyone who just pegs us for 10th or 11th doesn't understand how talented a group of newcomers the Rice coaching staff has brought in.
No matter how good those guys are, Bloomgren keeps us at 10 or 11.

I think we will have the best WR corp we have had for decades, and BloomingIdiot will still be pounding the rock until we are down 21 points.

Yes he will.
