But agreed, if they are looking for culture fit, the Arizona's make more sense. They better act fast. I wouldn't be surprised if the Big 10 grabs one of the Arizona's.

I think you’ve drawn an incorrect conclusion by looking at only the B1G moves. The B1G threw out culture because it had and has no other good options within its cultural region. The SEC has plenty of options that do not create a cultural mismatch. The SEC overall is in a stronger place than the B1G, partly because it is cohesive, and that’s represented in the revenue.

The B1G is a GREAT cultural fit with USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, UW and Oregon. It's an odd geographic fit, but with the money the B1G makes they can fly the volleyball team on the Concorde if they wanted. Yes, I know the Concorde is not a thing anymore.

Cal and Stanford are too liberal for my liking. Neither of them are good fits and I'd say Oregon probably isn't either. Most schools are "liberal leaning" anymore, but the Bay area schools are extreme.

It's not really political leaning. It's that the West Coast culture isn't football crazy like the Midwest and the South. Football is on a decline at every amateur level on the West Coast.

The University of Washington drew 68,000 in 2019. There is a very strong football culture in Washington and while it is a much smaller venue the same is true of Oregon.
